Scotty sends his work on this female Marine by the name of Megan Elizabeth Hall (Megan Morse) who claims that she was injured while she was working as a crew chief on whirlybirds. She claims that she served on active duty from 2000 to 2008. That she was injured in OIF from roadside bombs and myriad other things according to this video;

Just for fun, I’m checking with my old OIC who I believe was the AAMO (Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer) for HMM-161 at that time. Just curious to see if he remembers a female crew chief, or if there was even a mishap when they went forward.
I just talked to my old boss. HMM-161 set a record for mishap free flight hours at over 58,000. They had no mishaps from 1995 to 2007. So I don’t know where her crash claims come from, but it sure as hell wasn’t with 161.

I was a Crew Chief on CH-53’s back in the 80’s and we did use MALS staff and other squadron support staff at times as a Aerial Observer’s and anyone sitting on the left side of the aircraft during combat could also be considered a door gunner but that’s a stretch of the word. Seems to be embellishing for sure!

It wasn’t always my decision who flew with me, i just remember some support staff on rare occasion. It was considered a perk/privilege for them but they didn’t rate any flight pay just got to fly as an observer. However to be a qualified observer you are correct. About 99% of my left side guys were fist mechs that were assigned to us until they became Crew Chiefs.

Possible. It’s also possible she works for the Congressman in his Sherman Oaks office, or as a volunteer (or contract support). Not sure the lists I’ve checked had satellite/local district office employees listed, and they probably wouldn’t list volunteers and those on support contracts anyway. Ditto if she’s someone working on his behalf as a “local outreach worker” (or similar bogus title) whose salary is paid by his political party.

I tore up my back pretty good in 1988 in a Huey crash at Ft Carson. I was the unit NBC guy (54B) but additional dutied as the Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) tech. I flew a lot because of this and was logged in as a crewmember on our accident flight. Not defending her, but being tagged as a crew member on an A/C is entirely possible depending on the circumstances. I think she’s full of shit concerning the rest however. Kinda the Forrest Gump of her unit, ya know.
