North Koreans hold missing troops’ remains hostage
From the Associated Press comes the news that North Korea is being a dick again. They claim that the remains of the troops we left behind over there are being “carried away” like so much landfill;
About 8,000 U.S. service members are listed as missing from the 1950-53 war, and some 5,300 of the missing are believed to be in North Korea.
On Monday, an unidentified North Korean military spokesman said in a state media dispatch that the remains of American soldiers are “left here and there uncared and carried away en masse” because of building projects, land reorganization and flood damage.
The U.S. war remains “now look like no better than stones as land rezoning and other gigantic nature-remaking projects made progress” in North Korea, the spokesman said.
NDtBF seems to be AWOL these days and it’s rumored that his sister, Kim Yo Jong, is running the joint. But whoever is in charge thinks that they can leverage our war dead’s remains;
North Korea has been seeking better ties with the outside world in what foreign analysts say is an attempt to lure aid and investment to help revive its moribund economy…There were signs of easing tension earlier this month when a group of high-powered North Korean officials visited South Korea and agreed to revive senior-level talks between the rivals. But the North last week opened fire with machine guns after activists in the South launched balloons carrying anti-Pyongyang leaflets across the heavily armed border. South Korea returned fire. There were no reports of injuries or damage.
Somehow, I don’t think they’re going to be willing to give up much of anything. Maybe Dennis Rodman can shake something lose. Or Jimmy Carter, or Jesse Jackson. Or maybe someone competent for a change.

Yeah! That’s it! Send JJ over there! Maybe his passport will be revoked or lost or something while he’s over there. Then he won’t be allowed back to the US and the Tiny Troll (or whoever is in charge at that moment) will have to keep him. How quick do you think it will take before the NORKs start screaming about “cruel and unusual punishment”? Win for the US, lose for the NORKs.
I don’t know but if that photo is one of Kim Yo Jong, the new sister in charge…wow! At least she’s not a short, fat bastard like her brother! Anyway, screw the NORKs and when they finally “surrender unconditionally” to the the South Koreans and the U.S. then we’ll talk. Until then, bite me.
I call bullshit. There’s no way in hell that Kim Jong Il produced a daughter that looks like her!
The Other Whitey…While I was being tongue in cheek, I agree with you. They must have searched high and low across all of North Korea to find her, then gave her the ultimate make-over for that photo op.
Stay classy, Norks. Stay classy.
According to the Duffel Blog, Dennis Rodman ousted Kim and is now running North Korea. Makes as much sense as anything. It couldn’t possibly get any weirder.
Am I the only one thinking that we should just send in the SEALs?
Fine…AFTER they retrieve the Marine that is currently rotting in a Mexican jail.
If we don’t intend to actually invade and conquer the place, I would say no. There’s no way the government of North Korea could maintain legitimacy with the cult of personality they’ve built around the Kims if they let dear leader get assassinated without massive retaliation. I don’t contemplate the idea of rockets raining down on Seoul with “the dear leader sends his wishes from beyond” stenciled on them in Korean with any level of eagerness.
Frankly, Kim Jong-Un has been reasonably stable (by Nork standards). With North Korea’s nukes/artillery within range of Seoul, things could definitely be much worse than the status quo.
I’m not sure what to say on this one. Kim is extremely violent, and seems to be degenerating into madness as time passes.
However, Kim seems to be out of control now. From rumors I’ve heard, Kim’s sister is running the show. No idea on her mental health, but either way, we’ll have to see.
I hear you. It’s just so damn hard to tell rumor and speculation from real intel when we’re talking about that black hole of a country.
Either way though, you can’t deny that with some brief interruptions, the bullets aren’t flying.
That may change at some point in the future, and if it does or looks like it probably will, we’ll reevaluate then.
Naw. Let them be for now. They’re doing a much better job of killing commies then we could, considering the ROE our administration would impose on us. After a couple more “Dear Leaders”, there won’t be any NORKs left.
What did you expect from that bunch of thugs? Civilized behavior?
I never expect any kind of behavior from them that is any different from that of a socially maladjusted child or adolescent!
This would probably the only reason my (step)Grandpa might be willing to go back to Korea, if he were still with us.
I wouldn’t be opposed to sending SEALs in to scuttle the Pueblo, however….
As long as they leave “FUCK YOU” in 25-foot-high letters where it used to be!
+10!
Big NEG on that!
There is a crew waiting to take her home!
The USS Pueblo will return as it is still a commissioned ship!
OUT
That’s not a bad idea either.
Would the Seals have book deals and movie rights before or after the ship was repatriated?
I admit that I have sympathy for the masses of malnourished, impoverished and brainwashed North Koreans, but I have ZERO feelings whatsoever for the top elite over there who have no regard for anything other than staying in power at any cost (Come to think of it, I feel the same way about liberal pols!). The Norkies are acting like spoiled children again, doing what they think will upset and anger as many as possible much like certain characters featured on TAH does with his webpages and posts. Just like with them, the more upset people get about their gestures, the happier they are, I’m certain that every one of them has a place in hell reserved for them alongside “Hanoi Jane” Fonda, Kerry, Ayers,…
You are correct. It is bad there. There are as many three generations of families who have been born to and live in camps. The stories coming out of North Korea are horrifying. These campers are reduced to nothingness and are perhaps to most abused group on the planet. It makes me sick and I hope one day we again push that line.
My father pushed 3 times and pulled 3 …
One final push is needed!
OUT!
So my father is not here to say it, he fought with the the US Army 13th Combat Engineer Battalion (51-53) so I will say it for him … “FUCK YOU NORTH KOREA, WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN”.
The sooner, the better.
