Saturday morning feel good story

| October 11, 2014

This morning’s story comes from Texas;

According to police, the homeowner heard someone breaking into his Jeep, and that’s when he got a gun and held the man for officers.

Moments later, the man tried to run away, and that’s when the homeowner shot him in the leg, police said. Despite the wound, the man managed to run from the scene. Later that morning, a man with a gunshot wound showed up at Methodist Hospital downtown. Police said they believe that man was the one who broke into the Jeep. His condition wasn’t immediately known.

The crook also left his bicycle at the scene, so the homeowner wins.

I’m a bit iffy on the homeowner shooting the guy while he’s running away, but at least he was caught.

Concur. Running away does not pose an immediate threat. FWIW, the details are probably important and not a strong point for news reporting.

On the other hand, if the BG comes back then things change.

Shot in the leg. .. . . .
The perp is lucky the homeowner missed and didn’t shoot him in a more vital and permanently disabling (up to and including the cemetery).
At least that wound will slow him down for immediate future burgles.
