Ghazni province villagers hang Taliban militants

In Afghanistan, in the Ghazni province, Afghan military have been battling a fairly large force of Taliban for the last week or so. The Taliban has been doing what they do best – terrorizing the civilians with executions and beheadings. Villagers struck back this weekend when they hung four Talban terrorists from a tree, according to Reuters;

The hangings were carried out after Taliban fighters had killed more than 100 people in the area in the past week, including more than a dozen who were beheaded, according to Ghazni deputy governor Mohammad Ali Ahmadi.

The battle in the Ajrestan district of Ghazni, southwest of the capital Kabul, is part of an escalation of Taliban attacks around the country as the militants take advantage of dwindling U.S. air support as foreign forces leave.

I think that’s good news since the Afghans are putting a little more effort into their own well-being for a change.

Well, if this can be seen by them as some sort of tribal warfare, which it is in a rather fundamental sense, then maybe they’ll make some progress on their own. Let’s hope so.

Grimmy

The Taliban was created by Pakistan, not Afghanistan.

The greater majority of Taliban fighters are foreign imports (mercenaries), there for the perks such as rape, murder, torture, sex slavery (war brides as sanctioned by imams), etc.

The Taliban has been a foreign invasion of Afghanistan from the day that program started. There’s always local collaborators when such things happen of course, but Talib ain’t Afghan in origin nor are most of the trigger pullers.

I’m sure it will be classified as workplace violence.

Flagwaver

I classify it as a good start.

Bahahahahahahaha, you win the internet this week.

rb325th

Well, 4 is a good start. Do they need more rope? We could take up a collection and send them some if need be.

A Proud Infidel®™

I like that idea rb325th, I’d like to send them plenty of good strong hemp rope greased with rendered pig fat so the knot slides nice and smoothly, what say you?

Some good news…maybe.

Fox News reported A’stan govt will sign a status of forces agreement tomorrow allowing for residual force of 10,000 troops to stay beyond end of the year.

I prefer a stoning, but okay.

If any of y’all are looking for a good book, “Caravans” by James Michner is a good one. Michner came out of the Pacific after WW2 and was then sent to Afghanistan as the Naval Intel. Attache to the US Embassy in Kabul. His observations made in 1946 still ring very true. There is a vivid scene in the book about an execution that takes place in Ghazni which is the impetus for this digression.

How in the wide, wide, world of sports did you do that, make the connection of Michner to Gazni? I’m not amazed often but I am over that! That’s impressive. Take a bow.

GDContractor

Hi praise indeed, from The Master no less. Thank you. If you read the book, I think you will see how I was able to make the connection. It is a very memorable book. I read it on my Kindle while I was over there. I found it very informative and helpful in trying to understand what my eyes were seeing in Wardak.

“High praise…”…ha ha, damn autocorrect…yeah that’s the ticket

TSO

Ah Wardak. Loved the NDS compound there. Such lovely accommodations. I gave it 4 stars.

Gee, I hope they had due process, were represented by counsel, and were permitted to offer a defense–you know, obama/holder style.

Hondo

Looks like they heard ya in Afghanistan too, Proud Infidel. (smile)

The Other Whitey

I’ll hold my applause until they make a habit of doing this. And I hope those Taliban cocksuckers kicked for a few minutes.

A truly awesome outcome….

What do you call 4 terrorists hanging from the neck until dead?

A good start…
