Monday morning feel good story

| September 15, 2014

Police line

Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories again this morning. The first is from Houston where a store clerk was forced to protect his father and sister;

This all started around 10:45pm Friday when the suspect walked into the convenience store on Scranton near Dexter with a shotgun. The owner of the store was inside with his son and daughter.

The father pulled out a handgun and told the robber to stop. When the robber turned around with his shotgun, the son grabbed the gun from his dad and shot the robber in the leg.

The robber started running down the aisles of the store, trying to engage the son with his gun, and that’s when police say the son shot the robber several times, killing him.

The next story is from Mississippi;

Imagine walking out to your vehicle after hearing the sound of barking dogs to find someone attempting to steal your belongings.

Jackson resident Johndarius Curtis, 20, was facing this dilemma on Sunday after he walked up on a suspected burglar trying to steal a stereo from his vehicle.

The incident happened at 2883 Arbor Hill Drive.

Jackson Police said the 28-year-old male suspect attempted to strike Curtis with his own stereo, that’s when Curtis shot the man once in the jaw with a .22 caliber revolver.

Don’t have a score sheet, but Houston seems to be getting a disproportionate amount of “feel goods”.

Instinct

Lot of the perps moved to Houston after Katrina and never went back home.

Houston is the kind of place where the only reason we don’t put dead perps’ heads on pikes as a warning to others is because they won’t let us. Other than the occasional activist preaching about someone’s civil rights for just long enough to get more donations, the primary reaction to dead attempted robbers is “shouldn’t oughta rob no one. You get shot like that”

Right you are Instinct, The Katrina refugees also went to prison in droves. It turns out that Texas has no Misdemeanor Murder Charge like Louisiana. The gang members that went to Texas tried to carry on in Texas and found that Texans take crime a lot more seriously than the folks of Chocolate City do. The crime rate in Houston went way up right after Katrina. It looks like it is trending back to normal.

Who carries a .22 for protection? That’s what you teach a kid to shoot with.

When the guy shot the criminal in the jaw, did the criminal ask what the popping sound was?

Seriously, even a 9mm has penetration power at close range through bone. A .22 is a soft-tissue only weapon.

David

sometimes you run with what you got… I once advised someone concerned with home defense who only had a 10-22 rifle to get a couple of 30 round magazines, load no more than 26 or so in each, and if someone came in to just pull the trigger until the perp stopped or they ran out – at which point they should reload and go back to shooting. I’d give the same advice again today.

That makes sense. It’s a very accurate round. If you throw enough of them down range, you will either scare the piss out of the person receiving them or you might hit something vital. Either way, you are safe. But, one shot… not so much.

No heads on pikes but the London daily mail had surveillance photos of the robber lying on the ground about to get shot again. All videos of these litte shits getting their asses handed to them should be widely broadcast
