Phony soldiers commit other real crimes

1stCavRVN11B sent me a link today about John William Harvey, who according to POW Net pretends to be a four star general – and he’s got that beret-wearing perfect – and what’s that on his collar;

Local news outlets say he’s been arrested for child molestation and that he’s been known to walk around in public in his uniform. It’s hard to tell which of his crimes is worse. But, here’s a hint for all of you junior detectives out to hunt down your neighborhood wannabes – four star generals don’t normally live in trailer parks. Nothing against trailer parks, I’m just saying;

During the course of the investigation, police said they discovered that Harvey presented himself out to be an ex-CIA officer, a doctor, and a U.S. Army four star General. Neighbors told police Harvey had been seen wearing a U.S. Army general’s uniform in public. His vehicle bears a tag on the front that reads “CIA.” Also, his mobile home has CIA and U.S. Department of Homeland Security decals.

Oh, and CIA agents don’t put CIA bumperstickers on their trailers, either.

1stCavRVN11B and Doubleplusundead both sent me this winner – an 18-year-old who spent a few hundred dollars on the internet to buy a uniform so he could pass a bad check for 40 grand dressed as an Army sergeant;

Yeah, that’s Orlando Ramos-Cabrera from Hartford, Conneticut. POWNet has an entry on Orlando, too. From the Courant;

He identified himself as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. But police officers who are military veterans quickly recognized Ramos-Cabrera was a fake, police said. The Dodge, parked in front of the bank, was seized as evidence.

Of course, he was wearing a Special Forces patch – why is it they never pretend to be clerks or cooks? It’s always Ranger or SEALs or Special Forces. I’m pretty sure the cops spotted him a mile off with that cruddy blousing job on his trousers and the flash over his left ear, not to mention that dizzy expression. And his distinctive pear shape.

If there are some folks out there who are thinking about wearing a uniform that they didn’t work to earn the right to wear, you really ought to find some counseling first – wearing a military uniform is a crime and you’re a criminal. In fact, it may be a gateway crime as these two retards have demonstrated for us.
