Friday morning feel good stories

Police line

Here are a couple of feel good stories to get through the last day of the week. The first is from West Virginia where a homeowner stopped a home invasion with his shotgun;

Sheriff McComas says the homeowner told deputies that after being shot, the suspect got into a waiting car located a short distance from the house.

McComas says deputies say they found blood leading away from the house, along with a crow bar.

The Sheriff says relatives brought Davis to the hospital and that he was incoherent when he arrived. McComas says the relatives told deputies that Davis told them he had broken into a house and was shot.

The next story comes from Flint, Michigan where another homeowner stopped two men from invading his home;

Two men are in custody after an attempted home invasion. Police say the men attempted to break in to a home around five Wednesday morning on Freeman Avenue.Police say the home owner shot the two men after they entered his home. The home invasion shooting is the second incident this month in Flint where an attempted home invasion has gone wrong for criminals.

Police tell NBC 25’s Josh Marshall home owners are using their second amendment rights but could be dangerously close to breaking the law. Knowing what to do before home owners pull the trigger doesn’t come in a pamphlet when a gun is purchased. While it is a legal right, understanding the mechanics of the law can keep an innocent home owner alive, and out of jail.

The articles goes on to say that there have been 25 home invasions in Flint this year and only two were prevented by armed homeowners. The rest of Flint better get on the 2d Amendment train.

“The rest of Flint better get on the 2d Amendment train.

It sounds like the cops are trying to discourage people from doing so. If the cops are worried about John Q. Public crossing some legal line in defending themselves inside their own home, then they need to inform them. It’s not up to the gun store or gun manufacturer to do that, when the gun is purchased.

When seconds count, the Police are minutes away.

Thank you Joe Mama! +1 The FPS of my .45 is far better than the police response. In fact I can have 2 in center mass before the wife gets connected to 911.

How about you bastards focus on the burglars that are actually breaking the law first before you start scolding homeowners? Just a thought.

Jacobite

Amen!!

Concerning what the cops said about being close to breaking the law: I say that’s why we have juries. And the way to tell a jury your story is to live long enough to make it to the courtroom! I’ll do what I have to do to defend my life.

I’m not surprised. I’ve been to Flint a couple times. Would not recommend anybody visit. I’m a little confused how the homeowners were dangerously close to breaking the law. Flint is Michael Moore’s old stomping grounds. That sounds about right.
