Hasan and Lopez bought their guns at the same gun shop
I saw this last night in my news feed from Talking Points Memo, that liberal shithole, about how Lopez bought his gun at the same place that Hasan bought his gun. I don’t know what stupid point they’re trying to make, though. For some reason, Fox News thinks it’s a newsworthy point, too.
A quick Google search tells me that there are only six gun shops in Killeen and two of those are pawn shops. So it stands to reason that two people might have used the same gun store – the place is named Guns Galore, by the way. So maybe it’s the name that bugs them. Or maybe they’re trying to say that Guns Galore sells guns knowingly to terrorists.
But Naser Jason Abdo also bought his gun there. You probably remember that Abdo was fellow who wanted to blow up a restaurant in Killeen for his jihad. The owner of Guns Galore was the fellow who called the cops on Abdo and foiled his dastardly plot.
Talking Point Memo, in an attempt to wring every bit of news out of the Fort Hood shooting, wrote another pointless article about how Lopez’ gun wasn’t registered on Fort Hood. I guess because, as everyone knows, a registered gun won’t kill people. Actually, quite the opposite, it only proves to me that folks with ill-intent won’t register their guns, which kind of defeats the intent of the whole process, doesn’t it?
Of course, not willing to let a tragedy go to waste, Harry Reid is thinking about gun control in the Senate again according to Roll Call;
“As I was told today, this young man bought this gun a day or two before he killed these people,” Reid said. “Couldn’t we at least have background checks so that people who are ill mentally or felons shouldn’t be able to buy a gun? Even [National Rifle Association] members, the majority of them, support that.”
Reid could bring such a bill back to the floor this year.
“I would like to bring it back up; we need some more votes,” he said.
Yeah, well, Lopez passed a background check, so I have no idea what Reid is thinking about. The problem with background checks is that the folks who are supposed to report these people aren’t putting their names in the NICS. Garbage in, garbage out.

Does Harry Reid even think in the first place? This is the same guy who sees the Koch brothers as being behind every bad thing that happens to him at this point.
So following liberal logic here, if we close the store that both bought their guns at, there will be no more violence in or around Ft. Hood. There is it folks, problems all solved!
/sarc/
the owner of guns galore is a really stand-up guy. he was horrified about the 2009 shooting and really beat himself up about it, as i’m sure he is doing now.
Yeah, and every liquor store owner is responsible for multiple DWIs, every tobacco shop owner for cancer, and every Baskin Robbins operator for obesity. If he beat himself up, he’s not thinking clearly.
I’m guessing he beats himself up because he’s a human, not because logically he’s responsible.
You don’t have to register your weapon with the PM unless you live on post (housing or barracks), and then if you’re a barracks rat the weapon stays in the unit arms room. Sounds like they’re really trying to make a big deal out of this as well. It’s funny how there isn’t a big news deal made of the drug and gang related violence in Killeen…
This just in…the namses of Hasan and Lopez both contain five letters! But wait! There’s more! Both were captured on video at the same Quickie Mart, though not at the same time. Coincidence? I think not.
2/17 Air Cav You’re killin’ me this morning! I just shot coffee through my nose.
Man I tell you, if you keep those trains of thought up, there is a high paying reporter/analyst job waiting for you at CNN. (The Cresent News Network…where love of Muslims comes first, “We’re on their side”)
And I bet they BOTH shopped at the PX and Commissary there on Ft. Hood as well. OH, THE HORROR!!!
/sarc, of course!
OMG!! I, too, have shopped at the Ft. Hood PX and Commissary!!!!
(I’ll go get ready for my close-up.)
“I have no idea what Reid is thinking about.” That’s OK, Jonn. Neither does Harry.
Next up, Hasan and Lopez, who both have 5 letters in their last name(h/t AirCav), both bought gas for their car at the same gas station, sometime.
UpNorth as I said to 2/17 Air Cav…there is just too much coincidence here! This needs a Congressional Committee to look into it. This could be bigger than the Warren Report!
Sparks, don’t give them ideas. Boner can’t find the nads to appoint a special committee for Benghazi, or F&F, or the IRS, but he’ll be on this like a maggot on a gut wagon.
This is NO kawinkadink … they also wore socks, inhaled air and could read!
There IS more to this story!
Guns Galore…. Offspring of a James Bond villan perhaps?
Everytime I read a story like this, I buy a new gun and or more ammo.
I am not a fanatic … however one sure way to ensure our rights are not violated is to maintain a well armed populous!
Juast sayin’!
Gun control.
Making sure good people aren’t armed.
I saw Raph Peters on Fox News the other day saying the most asinine things about the concept of CCW’s on bases I’ve heard in my life. My opinion of this guy really dropped when he basically said troops are too stupid and dangerous to do what millions of civilians do without issues every day.
2nd amendment sure makes the stupid come out of some people.
Especially when they are exercising their 1st amendment rights to talk about hating the 2nd amendment.
I always find it particularly entertaining to read liberals expounding on the virtues of the 1st and 4th amendments while bashing the second as if this was a chinese food menu where you can take some and drop some….
Even if I hated firearms (which I don’t) I would support the 2nd amendment on principle. Allowing the government to infringe on the periphery of any amendment makes precedence and prepares a path for infringement on other amendments.
It’s why I wholeheartedly support the ACLU even if I disagree with a great many of their views and litigation. They consistently hit the courts to defend 1st amendment rights of all sorts of people from Nazis to Limbaugh. We have to defend all of them together or risk losing them individually.
