I pray to god they don’t get shellacked by 40. I gotta live in Amherst and these students will probably go beserk on University Dr and North Pleasant when (or if) UMASS goes down.
Already had enough student riots going on in the past few weeks lol.
Back in the day we almost burned down Sunderland Village one time.
The videos I am seeing of the Blarney thing…..man the cops could not have handled that one worse. Not that some people don’t deserve a good spray to the face, but the rounds going in a 3rd story window was a bit much.
LOL Only thing they need to keep up in Sunderland is Bubs BBQ.
The Blarney thing was so bad that they sent some Ex Commish from Boston PD to investigate the Party Culture. You know UMASS has crazy rules for parties in Amherst area. No kegs, no loud noise or a 300 dollar fine (something like that), Do not be out wondering around past 1 am, etc.
I don’t know if they need to check out the party culture, need to look at the Umass Amherst Police a little bit. Sometimes those guys get a little too testy. Come out and harass students who just walking home and laughing from a good night out.
Oh yeah and 3rd floor thing, yeah not too surprising. It was probably Amherst PD. I wouldn’t be surprised because they were probably not trained to handle students. Funny, I never see Amherst PD police car at the precinct on Main Street. I have no idea where these guys hang out at. I see more Hadley police than Amherst.
I was a wrestling coach for Hadley (maybe South Hadley HS) back in 1990. I had 1 kid. We practiced over at Amherst HS. My kid took 3rd in Western Mass though.
Bubs BBQ is awesome TSO. Funny you mention that, one of my co-workers kids is a wrestler. But was just told that Amherst HS got rid of wrestling program. So he has to find another sport.
Probably was Hadley. Even though not much a distinction between South Hadley and Hadley.
One of my other Co-Workers went to UMASS around the same time as you. We usually go hang out there. ROute 9 Diner, Rafters BBQ, Judys, The Spoke, etc. He talks about the 90s and how it was. Sounds more awesome than today.
Besides, you think a *win* would be better?

@ TSO, got a great point. If a win comes, its gonna be a loud party. I will probably be at work till 11 pm. I will be taking the back roads home.
Sunderland Village, holy crap. Well from what I said out in Sunderland, some things need to be burned down.
Yeah I am usually out and about the UMass residential area…some of those Cops seem to be itching for action out there. Amherst College guys are quiet at least. But I see them creeping up on students walking down the street near the Commons.
Cops that UMass have now are a bunch of wannabe trigger happy buffoons it seems. I have only seen them handle one incident correctly. Usually the kids around UMASS are harmless and most are just walking back and forth from Judy’s area with all the bars to UMass residence.
I’d love to see UMass beat Duke…
Hell I’m happy every time Duke loses.
If Duke loses on what is basically their home turf, half the state of North Carolina will be eating shotguns.

I’m hoping that this year the post-game player interviews have subtitles or interpreters. I know that the players are at school only to play ‘bastetball’ but it really is tough to listen to—let alone to understand—most of them. Of course, Duke and Harvard are excepted.
