Thursday morning feel good story

| February 27, 2014

Chief Tango sends us our feel good story from Washington State this morning;

“He and a friend of his were in the garage when two men entered the garage with their faces covered and attempted to rob the two of them at gunpoint, “ said Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say that the homeowner’s friend grabbed a gun from his own car and shot one of the suspects. The other suspect ran away.

Neighbors made sure their doors were locked Tuesday night, investigators aren’t sure if the robbery suspect who ran had a weapon.

“I have a kid. It’s a little scary there’s someone still out there,” said Myra Griffith who lives nearby.

Great story! Criminals just hate it when people fight back.

OFF TOPIC–BUT A FEEL GOOD STORY

So, I’m channel surfing about 6:00 (0600 for you 24 hr clock people) this morning and I see something about a US ice hockey team. No big deal–except that no player was on skates. This was something I had never heard of before: sled (or sledge, as it’s known elsewhere) ice hockey. At first, I thought it very odd but, after a few minutes, I was watching the action and forgot that these men were playing hockey absent one or both legs. I kid you not. I totally forgot. These guys were checking like monsters and zooming on the ice like you wouldn’t believe. So, a little while ago, I tapped Google and, sure enough, four of the players are Veterans and three are wounded warriors. The fourth Veteran lost a leg in a motorcycle accident stateside. I finally found an Olympic event worth watching. (No, I don’t care for commenters in drag talking about the 13-year-old as a woman and some guy that I just know has a lightbulb up his ass on Saturday nights.)
