MD Rabbi Alam 1

You might remember this guy from the picture yesterday of the poorly attended Million Muslims March. His name is MD Rabbi Alam and he’s the founder of the American Muslim Political Action Committee and lead organizer of Million Muslims March. He was indeed a sergeant at one time in the Army, but that’s not how he left the Army according to his FOIA;

Apparently, towards the end of his career, he had a lot of problems and it looks like he got two or three Field Grade Article 15s (Non-Judicial Punishment) and busted all the way back down to E-1. You can read his statements in regards to his busts here, but it’s since mostly just from his side of the story, it’s not very helpful. It looks like he rode sickcall and the appointment mill and his unit got tired of it.

It also looks like he did a five month tour of OIF in 2003 as a supply sergeant in an ADA brigade, not that it matters, but it probably needed to be pointed out. But, apparently, he’s run for political office, city councilman in Kansas City, Missouri trying to pass himself off as an honorably discharged sergeant;

I don’t even know if that’s legal, but it’s definitely a lie. If he liked that sergeant rank so much, he should have tried harder to keep it.

Thanks to Pat for all of the research he did all day today.

@50 that’s because where he’s from “sh1tbag” is an improvement…

#49 every site I’ve looked at his bio is different. When he ran for office, did no one notice all the inconsistencies?

I was in the same battalion as this soldier. The CSM was very good at identifying dirtbags and pushing them out of the Army. Good to see the CSM had good judgement because it appears that this guy hasn’t done anything with his life. My UCMJ is a little rusty, but a few ART15s with a few more counseling statements showing no improvement could be identified as a pattern of misconduct. We worked pretty closely with the lawyers to ensure this would stick and drum out the dirt bags without an Honorable Discharge. How he made SGT is a whole other story
I find it funny that almost every pic of him online is in his (fake) uniform. KCMO loves the military, but Alam is taking it too far.

Duckhunter: it appears your former chain-of-command did just that in this case.

Assuming his “appeal” linked above is accurate, it seems he received a “General (Under Honorable Conditions” discharge vice an Honorable Discharge. I’m guessing that’s because the approval authority either wouldn’t approve a General (Other Than Honorable) without evidence of serious criminal misconduct, or that an OTH otherwise wasn’t deemed appropriate.

Unfortunately, the fact that this tool got a General (Under Honorable Conditions) doesn’t block him from being eligible for VA bennies. Those with Honorable and General (Under Honorable Conditions) discharges are eligible for all VA bennies.

Shockingly, neither an OTH or even a BCD imposed by a Special Courts-Martial always kills eligibility for VA benefits, either. These are evaluated by the VA on a case-by-case basis, and benefits may be granted if the VA deems the underlying misconduct not “serious” enough. That’s IMO bullsh!t, but it’s current policy.

A BCD or DD (or for an officer, a Dismissal) imposed by a GCM does categorically bar one from receipt of VA benefits. I believe that’s because it’s required by Federal law in such cases.

50 and 51 … Great material. I am using this at next management meeting when dealing with half retardo govt trained careerists.

This is eerily similar to how Phildo got his start.
