Saturday feel good story

| August 10, 2013

So, today’s feel good story comes from a Houston Denny’s where a woman came out of the restroom and found her man being robbed by a group of six armed thieves;

Police said there was a shoot out, but it is not known how many shots were fired at the time. However, police said the gunshots hit cars in the parking lot.

No bystanders or customers were injured.

The group of suspects fled the scene.

Someone needs to buy Girlfriend some range time. The last I heard, Denny’s doesn’t allow firearms inside their restaurants even though a patron may be carrying one legally – the reason I quit going there.

Dennys does not. Although if it is concealed how would they know? Here in NC there is open carry and my friend went into one and was asked to leave because as the mgr said “Someone complained and I don’t like guns”. There was a few words about open carry and no sign on the door and a couple of sheriff’s happened to be there. One came over and got my friend outside and got the story. Cop went back in and told the mgr he had to follow the law like everyone else and “I don’t like guns” was not an excuse. Put up a sign prohibiting them or they are allowed. The cop also told my friend that although open carry is legal to conceal the damn thing and avoid the hassle. Good advice.
I won’t go into a Dennys for the same reason. They don’t want my business then I’ll go elsewhere.

Old Trooper

Wait, wait, wait; how could there be an armed robbery INSIDE a Denny’s when they don’t allow guns in their eateries?? I’m shocked, I tell you, SHOCKED?

And princess needs some range time and to control her breathing.

Bubblehead Ray

No Denny’s here in town, but signs have no legal weight here in Georgia. However, if you are asked to leave by a manager or owner because someone notices your weapon, you must leave or face trespassing charges. Thus, I always carry concealed.

Yeah… Range Time.

Ex-PH2

I don’t go to Denny’s because their service is poor and I can get the same thing or better for the same price, with better service, at several other places.

However, it was not so very long ago that I went to a Denny’s and there were three cops WITH guns in holsters sitting at the counter over their breakfast. Maybe things have changed since then.

Cracker Barrel has better food.

Big Denny

In Texas, They would have to post a very large sign as set forth in section 30.06 of the Texas Penal Code. Otherwise any Concealed Handgun Licensee can carry. I haven’t found a Denny’s with signs.

and No, I’m not affiliated.

Just An Old Dog

I’m not surprised that a high-falutin’ dining establishment like Dennys would frown at low-brow types who think that carry a firearm for personal protection is acceptable.
The fine cusine, world class cooks and elite clientele alone should keep out the criminal element.
Like the old saying goes, no one ever goes out to eat at Dennys, it’s just where you end up when every other place is packed or closed. Cocos,Carrows or IHOP beats them every time.

Common Sense

“I don’t go to Denny’s because their service is poor and I can get the same thing or better for the same price, with better service, at several other places.”

It depends on the manager. We have a Denny’s near us that give 5-star service, seriously. My daughter and I happened to be there one night after a show a number of years ago, and were flabbergasted at the quality of service. In the past 5+ years, we’ve never had a bad experience.

Also, they have the best hamburgers anywhere, homemade ranch dressing (my daughter’s favorite), and I love their Veggie-cheese omelets. Other pluses are that it’s quiet so you don’t have to shout to have a conversation and you can call and order takeout and your food is ready by the time you get there (15 minutes).

This particular Denny’s is our go-to place when we need a quick bite to eat.
