CPL Armando Torres, III kidnapped Marine
The FBI is asking for help in locating Corporal Armando Torres, III, an Iraq veteran who was supposedly kidnapped while in Mexico along with his father and uncle last month. From CNN;
Torres drove across the International Port of Entry Bridge at Progresso, Texas, to visit his father’s ranch in La Barranca, Tamaulipas, the FBI said.
Shortly after he arrived at the ranch, armed gunmen entered the ranch and took Torres, as well as his father, Armando Torres II, and his uncle, Salvador Torres, by force, the FBI said.
11 young people go missing from barThe father and uncle are Mexican citizens and the three have not been seen or heard from since.
The state prosecutor’s office in Mexico’s Tamaulipas state told CNN that neighbors said the apparent kidnapping could be tied to a land dispute involving the Marine’s father.

There is a growing concern about a link between the Mexican drug cartels and terrorist networks. Any story like this needs to be followed closely — and I hope our government is paying attention.
Oh boy. I hope they release these three men and/or find them alive.
@2
You know, if we only had a group of highly trained, equipped and motivated men who were willing to go in to a foreign country and resolve an international incident between the U.S. and this other nation, well then we’d be all set.
😀
i’m not to far from there,,,it’s like Beirut over there
Mexico’s strict Gun Contol Laws do a wonderful job of stopping violent crime, don’t they? That’s just what the left wants to do with the USA, but I’m “Preaching to the choir” here when it comes to that. I hope and pray that they’re found alive and well, though.
Yes, when tourists are being attacked in Acapulco, you know something’s wrong, and that has happened several times in the last 2 years.
I hope that these people are found, but unfortunately, I have my doubts.
The “Gulf Cartel” operates in that area, and they’re known for kidnappings. Doesn’t sound good.
@3 Yeah, God forbid we should arm those who want to save our people FROM foreign predators….
Id say go collect our “wayward” brother and “kindly” chastise the inconsiderte prick for their rude beahvior… (snark)
Mexican goverment- about as useful as “A No Choke Shotgun at a Sniper compition.” or my fave- “A broken condom on prom night”
I will pray and hope this Marine and his family are returned safely. Progresso, Tx (Hildago Cty) is smack in the middle of the trans-border violence. With his father and uncle being taken, I don’t know. Maybe the DPS air units down there or one of the border camera’s will get lucky and aquire an infared signature of some kind on them.
We should send us marines to wipe out all cartels
Espero que nuestro hermano sea recojido bueno y sano. Que se vayan a la chingada esos pinches cobardes de los carteles! I had to go espanol there. For those of you who do not speak Spanish, it translates as follows:
I hope that our brother is recovered in good health. May those cowards from the cartels get fucked! (or go to hell, depending on how mad you are).
I know Mexico was bad enough during the 80’s and 90’s. No amount of money or discounts, etc., you would be able to give me to play tourista in Mexico anymore.
Dirt Dart–I prefer the following: “Son, you’re about as useful as a cock-flavored lollipop.” That pretty much describes that government (and ours of late) to a tee.
