“We have to go”
Ex-PH2 sends a link to NBC about the same discussion we had the other day about Afghans planning their own withdrawal strategy from their own country;
And as international funding dries up and with many international companies due to shut down after the departure of foreign troops, Afghanistan’s economy is set to shrink dramatically. Foreign embassies are also being scaled down.
“Fear of instability in 2014 is driving emigration of the very people and money that could prevent instability,” STATT, an NGO that does research and polling, said in its January 2013 Afghan Migration in Flux report. “Most foresee a future of conflict, instability and chaos as fait accompli for the country.”
Apparently, they squandered their chance at being a country instead of the world’s asshole, and now, when they should be making preparations for the loss of American taxpayer dollars, they’re following those dollars out of the country;
Some Afghans scrambling to get out any way they can are paying $30,000 to 50,000 on the black market for fake passports and passage to another country, an exorbitant sum in a country where average annual income is estimated to be under the $500 a year. A recent Afghan police raid picked up dozens of false Canadian, Pakistani and Afghan passports and numerous forged visas.
Meanwhile the rural poor – farmers and laborers – have fewer options. If they are forced to move because of violence, they often end up unemployed in refugee camps, which many find shameful.
So, the people who could actually change Afghanistan are just pulling up stakes. Just like Mexico and the rest of Latin America. Of course most Afghans are planning on coming to the US or Canada. There’s already a large Afghan population in Arlington County, VA from the last exodus which swept the Taliban into power there.
It’s just what happens when the politicians decide when and how we’re to leave a war zone behind, instead of listening to the generals. Of course, they can say that the politicians listened listened to the generals, after the politicians fired all of the generals who disagreed with them.

The democrats have a fetish about leaving wars at whim or ideology.
Even wars the democrats themselves start or decide to fight, Truman and Korea 1950~1953 left us their legacy of how democrats fight wars. Now one of those old long forgotten decisions to leave a war zone with a tie and an armistice is coming back to bite democrat butt. This time it’s Obama and Korea 2013~a date to be announced these are like children obsessed with a new ideal or belief going to war over that ideal or belief then losing interest in the new toys walks away. leaving the mess behind for someone else to clean up.
Thus will be Afghanistan a war and ideal that just faded away to nothing more than extortion by the elected government who is stealing it from US taxpayers while our troops die in dribs and drabs, just like Korea does now.
The democrats have quit the field of battle to fight a new foe, Republican’s and the American people who are perceived to be the greater threat to everything from global warming to world peace.
Imagine that.
Yes, and there was something in the newspaper today about Syria’s Hassad saying that if his regime falls, it will destabilize the entire region.
I wondered, when I read that, what was his point?
I figure some time in the next five years things are either going to be settled for good, or the entire Middle East and parts of Asia (Pakistan, Korea) will go up in smoke. One or the other.
Here’s a link to an article about what Hassad said. Things seem to be heating up everyhwere.

Assad is an ass. If he goes, someother POS serial killer with a name not found in Amish communities will become the big cheese, with the usual celebratory slaughter of Jewish and American tourists to mark his ascension.
Amish communities?
What, are you drunk or something? Your post is so incoherent it requires a UN translator.
