NRA: Stand & Fight; Chuck Schumer

| February 25, 2013

The folks at the NRA sent us this video, the latest in their Stand & Fight series about Chuck Schumer who has told us that he won’t push for universal gun registration, has flipped, unsurprisingly;

The Senate Judiciary Committee may have an up-or-down vote on Dianne Feinstein’s Scary Black Guns Ban as early as Thursday according to the Washington Post. Among the things may vote on is a Schumer bill on background checks;

…the committee plans to consider a bill by Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) to expand the nation’s gun buyers background check system. What’s unclear is what version of the Schumer bill will be considered: An older version introduced in previous congressional sessions, or an updated version that includes bipartisan support. Schumer has been in negotiations with Sens. Joe Manchin III (D-W. Va.), Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) in hopes of earning moderate Democratic and Republican support for a plan that could expand background checks to all private firearms sales with limited exemptions.

Schumer’s bill is S.374. Oddly enough, I can’t find the text of the bill. However, Joe Manchin is going to be welcomed in his office tomorrow morning by yet another fax from a disgruntled voter.

Maybe I don’t read enough…does anybody know how background checks on private sales are supposed to be accomplished? (I am thinking of private citizen to private citizen sales, since I guess sales at gun stores are considered private, also.)

A Proud Infidel

If Tonto were still alive, he’d tell us “Liberal man speak with forked tongue.” and use “Shoo-mah” as an example.

Common Sense

Hickenlooper is pushing for universal background checks here in CO too, the state Senate starts debates the first week of March. Here is his reasoning:

Hickenlooper, appearing on CBS-TV’s “Face the Nation,” said state officials intercepted more than 1,000 convicted felons attempting to buy firearms last year by conducting 320,000 background checks on sales through dealers and gun shows.

“We ended up arresting over 100, issuing arrest warrants for over 100 individuals, because they signed up for the background check,” said Hickenlooper. “We want to expand that. And it is an inconvenience for people, but we only cover about 60 percent of the transfers now. We want to get that 40 percent.”

So put those felons on a Do Not Buy list and leave us law-abiding citizens alone!

The ONLY way to have universal background checks is complete registration, registration = confiscation, their REAL goal. It happened in Canada, it WILL happen here.

Common Sense,
You forgot the third leg of the equation:
Registration=> confiscation=> extermination.
If you think I’m being too extreme, ask the millions of Jews, Russians, and Chinese who were killed by their own governments.
