More Citizens Prevent Crime
Here’s a few more stories I’m betting you won’t hear much about on the nightly news:
Hollywood, FL: a gas-station clerk puts a would-be robber away – for keeps. A second would-be robber escaped initially but was captured by police afterwards.
NE Miami-Dade, FL: a robber attempts to ply his trade and runs into an armed resident. The robber does not survive the encounter.
San Antonio, TX: a resident hears noise, grabs his gun, and goes outside. There the resident confronts two thieves ransacking his SUV in an apparent attempt to steal it. One would-be thief survives; the other does not. No charges are expected against the resident.
In each case above, an armed private citizen – acting lawfully – protected his life or property, preventing a felony in the process.
But remember, folks: according to our liberal brethren those guns are nasty terrible things whose only legitimate use is hunting. You don’t need them to protect yourself, your loved ones, or your property.

The pending announcement by obamaman of his gun-grabbing wish list will be staged with him surrounded by cuddly kids and their mommies. “Please, Mr. obamaman, save us from those horrible guns.” Well, my question is, why hasn’t he done so already? I mean, he’s the chief executive. He could have used his constitutional position to require the strict enforcement of existing laws anytime over the past four years. He could have met with his AG and the heads of fed LE agencies, pounded the table, and insisted that they enforce the existing laws that prohibit the incompetent, the drunkard, the drug addict, and the criminal from purchasing firearms. But he has not done so. Instead, he was campaigning, golfing, vacationing, and otherwise leading in abstentia for at least two years. This is utter horseshit and has nothing whatsoever with reducing gun violence. Make no mistake about it: This is all about tracking gun owners and, ultimately, getting the guns.
@3 I could not have been more eloquent, this is indeed utter horsesh1t as you point out.
There is no desire for any kind of honest, rational discussion. The kind of discussion that might lead to legislation that would actually produce a quantifiable result instead of a piece of window dressing that will not save a single life, but will turn folks who are honest and law abiding today into criminals tomorrow at the stroke of a pen.
There is no rational legislation that will stop a whack job from doing these things. Unles you mean enacting legislation like in the early days of the republic when people were required to carry weapons at all times.
In the lead-up to the gun grab, the WH released letters “written” by “children”. As part of this theater of the absurd, there is this quote from one of those “letters”, “an 8-year-old from Maryland pulled out a sheet of paper and wrote to President Barack Obama asking for “some changes in the laws with guns.”
“It’s a free country but I recommend there needs (to) be a limit with guns,” Grant wrote in the Dec. 17 letter. “Please don’t let people own machine guns or other powerful guns like that.”
Yeah, Joey-boy might believe an 8 year old wrote that, hell, I’m sure that really believes it. But, I’m betting a beer that mom or dad, more than likely a registered Obama voter, wrote the letter, then let “Grant” re-copy it. The sentence structure is better than one sees on most high school senior’s work, and how many 8 year olds even know what “recommend” even means, or how to use it?
Then, there is this gem, from an “11 year old”, “I know that laws have to be passed by Congress but I beg you to try very hard to make guns not allowed. Not just for me, but for the whole United States,” Julia wrote, signing the letter with “my love and regrets.” Again, not the way that the average 11 year old writes, talks or even thinks.
Fat finger Wednesday, #6 should also read “I’m sure that Joey-boy really believes it”.
In each (reading type)magazine from the NRA each is a page with 10 to 12 reports of armed civlies defending themselves from crimals . They send a monthly email called The Armed Citizen. It is free and you get a state by state report on pending changes or laws in your state. Joe
