Taliban rationale
The Associated Press reports that the Taliban had planned to murder a Pakistani reporter because his reportage cast them in a bad light;
The militant group claimed responsibility Tuesday for a failed assassination attempt against a prominent Pakistani TV anchor. Taliban spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan said the group targeted Geo TV’s Hamid Mir because he was “promoting secular forces.”
The bomb was found underneath Mir’s car in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, on Monday and was defused by police.
The Taliban threatened Mir and other journalists last month because the group was unhappy with their coverage of a schoolgirl activist shot by the militants.
I guess there was a better way to portray these well-meaning fellows when they shot a little girl in the face, surrounded by her terrified schoolmates on a busy street and the reporter just wasn’t nuanced enough to see it. And of course, their only recourse was to blow him up to teach him a lesson. I don’t think the Taliban has a handle on this whole public relations thing yet.
It’s almost as if they’re living in another century.

Ya know, it’d be easier dealing with these guys if we could find a way to drag them up to, say, the 17th or 18th century standards, but that’s not likely to happen.
The best bet still is to declare exterminatus on them and permit anyone, anywhere, to kill them when discovered. They’re a cancer on the body of civilization and until they are excised they’ll stay malignant and eventually kill the host.

Fork over a few hundred grand to Lieawatha to teach it before she hits the Senate. I hear those Talibunnies like women with high cheekbones–right before they behead them for showing their faces in public.

Yet, we get Little Miss “I can’t afford $9 a month for birth control” as the Time “Person of the Year”.
@1AW1Tim, get them out of the 7th century when their gutter, dog religion was created by a pedophile, murderer and they might be a little easier to deal with. Until they become “civilized”, to he’ll with them. They should be dealt with like a rabid animal. Put them down.
