The gang who couldn’t shoot straight

| November 9, 2012

Green Thumb sends a link to NBC News which reports that last week, Iranians tried to shoot down an unarmed US drone with their SU-25 Frog Foot jets sixteen miles off of the Iranian coast. Well, they missed.

Asked why the incident is just being revealed now — more than one week after the incident and just two days after the presidential election — Little said that the Pentagon does not talk about classified missions. He said that the information had been leaked to the media so he is acknowledging it.

“There is absolutely no precedent” for an incident like this, he said.

Yeah, classified missions. Right. As soon as someone gets axed by a drone, there’s a press release. I guess that the election and the fact that the White House just last weekend was telling us how Iran is on the verge of collapse and calling for negotiations over the sanctions has nothing to do with it.

Didn’t one of our trolls just tell us last weekend how the Iran problem is nearly solved thanks to Obama? I guess if they were on the ropes, they wouldn’t be shooting at our aircraft and put any negotiations in jeopardy.

I guess that verge of collapse is having a huge war training exercise and shooting a barrage of missles into Afghanistan.

Ex-PH2

Well, since there’s no more political capital to gain from leaks, we may not get too many more of them. I guess we should just enjoy it while we can.

Oh, sorry, I forgot who the stupid people are and how stupid they are.

Dogrease

This was in international waters, pushing it

NosDef

Cue the apology tour. Maybe a few PSA’s in Iran apologizing for an American that once drew Muhammed on a cocktail napkin.

Make Mine Moxie

Do you think it would have been news if there was simply large amounts of Iranian fighter jet wreckage floating ashore in the Gulf? It definitely would be a deterrent.

Whitey_wingnut

@Moxie that would have been a great deterrent, but Obama has made it very hard for Iran to show any type of force against anybody with his Sanctions.

So when’s the next 9/11. Anyone taking bets? I’m not wishing it on *ANYONE* however that being said, by not appearing strong and *being* strong, someone just kicks the door open and awaits the flies.

Devtun

WH sat on this incident until after the elections…smart political move I suppose. The media, if they knew, kept quiet and not about to ask tough questions now. Do no harm to Obama…

Nik

“Didn’t one of our trolls just tell us last weekend how the Iran problem is nearly solved thanks to Obama?”

It’s that new vocabulary. Fixed means “just as screwed as ever”.

Whitey_wingnut

Yeah I’m waiting to hear from that troll over this situation.

Nik

@10

You won’t. I suspect you’re more likely to hear from Santa Clause about why you didn’t get that bike when you were 10. I could be wrong, but in my experience, they’ll just clam up and never take responsibility for the idiocy that dribbled out of the hole in the bottom of their head.

Dave

“Little said that the Pentagon does not talk about classified missions.” Gentlemen, in this administration, I think that statement counts as a major policy shift.

J.M.

OPSEC? I’m pretty sure the Iranians knew what was going on….

Flagwaver

I have to agree with Chip, unfortunately. Also, what scared me more than 4 more years of Obama… Is that we are a heartbeat away from 4 years of BIDEN!!!

He might hear that Iran is being aggressive and launch a nuke at Iowa, believing the guy telling him just had a speech impediment.

Devtun

This just in at FNC…GEN David Petraeus resigns as DCIA – an extramarital affair was cited as reason. Good riddance…this guy was epic failure over Benghazi.

Eric

This, like the missile barrage into Afghanistan was Iran’s celebratory fire in response to Obama getting re-elected. There’s a reason why all these dictators and terrorist regimes supported Obama.

The way things go with election fraud, I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually voted for him too, under the name “Sylvia Wiss.”

So, maybe Joe was just telling the future when he was asking people if they knew anyone who served in Iraq or Iran….

ex af

Oh come on, its hard to keep something classified when you waste a gomer. Their news media reports it. Once it happens its no longer secret. Didn’t we learn this in SEA? (Uh, no, I had a classified list of stuff that was compromised go across my desk one time, one was something lost on a B-52 that now is in NVN – my take was you don’t want to compromise it don’t use it over enemy controlled areas. Any bets on how fast the Russians got it?)

Bet the guys bragged how better they were than American pilots in a dogfight…keep the Persians fat dumb and happy. Better for the slaughter.

This just in — couldn’t find a more appropriate spot for it:

Anyone on how long before Israel begs the WH to get involved?

No? I guess you guys simply aren’t as cynical as I am about these things, eh? You probably think we’ll be out of the Middle East before too long. Think again.
