FBI arrives at Benghazi consulate (UPDATED)
Just three weeks since it was raided by terrorists and the day after a Washington Post reporter picked through the evidence, the FBI has finally made their way to the US Consulate in Benghazi to begin their investigation of the evidence that might be left, says the New York Post;
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton vowed on Wednesday to answer lingering questions about the assault in a bid to counter a barrage of Republican criticism in the lead-up to the November 6 presidential election.
“There are continuing questions about what exactly happened in Benghazi on that night three weeks ago and we will not rest until we answer those questions and until we track down the terrorists who killed our people,” Clinton said.
“The men and women who serve this country as diplomats deserve no less than a full and accurate accounting, wherever that leads.”
Yeah, I hope they’ve hired script writers from CSI to make this at least a little credible.
UPDATE: Dan Riehl says that the FBI has already packed up and left Libya. I’m sure they got oodles of investigating done.

Move over, Sherlock Holmes. The FBI is here.
*yawn*
In fairness to the FBI, they can’t go unless they’re told to.
I hope they use Google this time!
Beat me to it, AirCav.
Wow…finally there. Not sure what they expect to find now…that place is more picked over than a Thai Soapy joint in Pattaya at 3 am…..
I wonder what the “final analysis” of the site will be….
I’m betting the final analysis will be either (1) what we ALL suspected it was on Sept 29th (a terrorist attack), or (2) somehow it will be substantiated to meet whatever the White House is calling it today. With a lack of any measurable evidence or witnesses, it’s hard to say.
If the area was too hot for FBI agents to show up to do their job, how come it wasn’t hot enough for the State Dept to get a unit of Marines there to guard the guy?
“that place is more picked over than a Thai Soapy joint in Pattaya at 3 am”
Copyright that pronto!
Bunch of horseshit.
I’m sure they got a lot accomplished.
poor FBI, no Starbucks in Benghazi.
Back in the day, there was a reason the F.B.I. was affectionately known to others as “Fools, Bunglers, Incompetents”…But I digress.
Yup, the update is good. The FBI was in and out in three hours, according to Libyan officials.
Agent #1: “So, this is it?”
Agent #2: “I guess.”
Agent #1: “Jeez. What a mess.”
Agent #2: “Yeah.”
Agent #1: “Look!”
Agent #2: “What?”
Agent #1: “There. A piece of paper. Don’t touch it! Get the kit.”
Agent #2: “Got it!”
Agent #1: “Well, what does it say?”
Agent #2. “It’s tough to read through the tinted baggie but it looks like—yes, it is–a CNN IOU for a diary and some other stuff.”
The team that was sent is from the NY Office. The best in the business. Best agents … best evidence teams … most experienced and totally dedicated. It is said about FBI NY, “if you want to be like FBI NY Office, you have to work like FBI NY Office.” Once the FBI leaves CONUS, they have no say when and where they go in a host country. The host counrty (if you can call it that) Libya decides that. Yes, it is all jacked up. But realize the 1811’s and support staff sent there wants justice just as bad as you and I. Four of our own were terrorized/assasinated/murdered and those responsible will be brought to justice (one way or another). The FBI is charged with investigating such crimes. Let them do ther jobs … even though it won’t be good enough after in country host nation delays.
Recount what happended in Yeman after the USS Cole was attacked in Oct 2000 … same thing, same issues. Although, AMB Bodine did not help much either.
@ 11 Very Good! That is probably what happended and they were probably there only a short period of time!

Sorry bout that!
Someone delete post 12.
@10, Street, now it’s Famous But Incompetent.
As for the passage of time, I really hope that Eric the Holder doesn’t plan on using anything found there in any “prosecution” down the road.
More than likely, Holder and Obama will hold a presser and announce…………….It was Bush’s fault.
