The Gun

| July 17, 2012

A pal of mine posted this on FB and it rang the Liberty Bell in my head.

“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.”
? Jeff Cooper, Art of the Rifle

I’d replace Rifle with Gun in every case, but I sure ain’t Jeff Cooper.

Hat tip to Mr.  Williams.

Art of the Rifle is a pretty decent book. Short, but pretty insightful. I found a used library copy through Amazon.
