SFC Walter Tayor support
Just Plain Jason sends us a link to the Facebook page set up to support SFC Walter Taylor, the young sergeant we talked about here who mistakenly killed an Afghan doctor who was acting suspiciously in the middle of a firefight.
Apparently his Article 32 hearing (a military grand jury) starts tomorrow. The Facebook page is impressive – former trainees he influenced as a drill sergeant have expressed support along with his current troops.
But there’s a Paypal link over there if you’re moved to help, but if nothing else, supportive words would probably do more good at this point. I know I’d hate to face Big Army under these circumstances and it would help to know that real soldiers understand the decision that SFC Taylor made in a tough situation.

Jonn, thanks for posting this up. I dont know this SFC but I know that he is a brother in arms and folks are trying to railroad him. I cant say that I would have done exactly what he did as I have never been faced with the situation he was in. I do know that I am tired of folks Monday morning quarterbacking his decision.
Sounds like Vietnam War — you get home, finally, and all the papers and people say you’re a Baby-Killer, Bad Soldier who KILLS THE ENEMY !!
(After — the same people SENT YOU THERE !!)
This guy and his family could use prayers and words of support in this trying time. Many of us who have been downrange were lucky enough to never have to be in this situation. I think him just knowing that he has some support would be nice. He is a brother engineer and a brother soldier so please keep him and his family in your prayers.
This is so disgusting. It makes me sad. And mad, livid, irate, and generally pissed off.
**insert mutter, mumble for what I’m really thinking**
Many thanks and much appreciation to the guys who set up this site. This social media thing should really work to the good SFC Taylor’s benefit. And you can count on some high cover from the Air Force.
Fuckin’ rough.
Definately gonna cruise over there and write some support for this guy…got the shit end of the stick.
So Col. Johnson gets a fine for fraud and bigamy. This SFC protected the lives of his soldiers in a firefight, gets grievously wounded on that deployment and he is on trial negligent homicide????? WTF is happening to our Army?
Negligent homicide? The woman drove up in the middle of a firefight in an unmarked vehicle. She got out of the vehicle and began running toward the enemy. The SFC, having witnessed that tactic before, reacted as his training dictated.
Perhaps, if she were following international law and had the red crescent on the side of her vehicle, he wouldn’t have shot her… then again, with all of the insurgents dressing up as cops and ANA, who knows what the hell is happening over there.
I would like to see whoever charged him who wrote the charge sheet. these two be charged with coduct unbecoming and filing s false document. Good for the Gander, good for the Goose
