Cadets pay homage to their favorite President
So on my usual trip through the blogs and Facebook, I came across Uncle Jimbo’s post about the Me-Me-Me-Memorial Day about the memorial Day Photo of the Day at the White House website. Since I have an interview this afternoon with Politico on the subject of the presidential candidates using the troops for political props, I went through some more of the White House photos of the day and got to this one on May 23rd;
It looks like the Air Force academy cadets are cheering their favorite president rather than just engaging in a centuries old tradition of tossing their caps in the air after they graduate, doesn’t it?
Category: Air Force, Barack Obama/Joe Biden
After many years of tossing their covers into the air, the local birds have grabbed many and eaten them. Now, the birds crap out Air Force Cadet hats as they fly over. So, you see, it’s really a bunch of shit.
Actually, they are throwing their hats AT Mr. Obama; however, being Air Force cadets they don’t realize they are out of range. Perhaps they expect aerial refueling halfway.
I didn’t know the air force issued hats as part of the uniform. I thought they issued covers.
For what its worth, it looks like he is watching the festivities.
Midshipmen honoring…

As a retired member of the “Chair-Force”, no matter how hard the left tries to spin it, the AF is still mostly anti-radical left and most do not approve of Obama.
Even more disgusting than his (usual) focus on himself is the horrendous inconvenience his little side trips to Arlington and The Wall caused for veterans in various stages of infirmity on Memorial Day. Most had traveled many miles to keep appointments, pay respects, and all they and we do to honor our dead warriors.
Too bad. So sad. Who cares that these were all worthy of the respect and thanks of “the man,” but instead he chose to make them wait for his little photo op because they are just, you know, like little stupid warriors who refused to bow. And not just wait a few minutes. Oh, no. They were forced to wait five hours prior to his scheduled time of arrival.
No word yet on the physical damage he caused to these men and their families.
Cadets outside, in uniform, not wearing their covers?
I figured this was just another pic of uniform regulation violators, like the breastfeeding post yesterday.
@7 – Do you recommend future POTUS’s avoid Memorial Day activities at Arlington and the Mall….or just this one?
#9: Answering for myself, I would say the SCOAMF has no greater right to be at the memorial on that day (and arguably less) than any vet who shows up to pay his respects to his comrades in arms. That being said, the prez has plenty of Secret Service around him for protection so why does a public area have to be closed to real warriors while the pretender does his photo op? While I would believe that most there disagree with him politically, I doubt they are an actual threat to him physically.
Wait, exactly how many centuries has the US Air Force been tossing their caps in the air?
🙂
I’m supposing that they inherited the tradition from USMA and USNA. Everyone wants to be a sharpshooter.
@11: I don’t know. How old is West Point? That’s where they started. (Can’t do a smiley face, I’m not that computer literate)
Photo by Pete Souza. The same SOB that took the photo of the one at The Wall.
@ #9 That is such a stupid question that it does not deserve an answer.
