Someone who didn’t get the message?
Country Singer sends this from of his Facebook friends. He asked me if it was former Sergeant Michale Stein, and I have no idea…all of you Marines look alike to me. Whether it is or not, someone didn’t learn Stein’s lesson. And he certainly didn’t listen to his platoon sergeant about wearing his uniform properly, either;
While I don’t disagree with his sign, I do disagree with the way he’s presenting it. And the fact that he didn’t shave today.
Category: Marine Corps
He also needs to pull up his pants, or buy a pair that actually, you know, FIT.
Where was the location/reason for this shit show?
Whoever is in the picture is probably out now.
Shave is UNSAT, and out of weight & military appearance standards. Don’t think he’s an active Marin, but anything’s possible.
He’s got a pistol badge, which, since he isn’t a SNCO, would imply that he’s an MP; MPs are, IIRC, assigned at the Division/Marine Corps Base level, not at the regiment. If he’s active and not assigned to either the 5th or 6th Marine Regiment, the dipshit shouldn’t be wearing the Fourragère.
Poohbah, Lord High Everything Else Wtf are you talking about? MP’s are the only ones who qual with pistols now? Where do you come up with this shit
Is it just me or does that cord on his shoulder look like 550 cord? Or do the Marines have any kind of OD green cord authorized for wear?
@6 – It’s a French Fourragère [maybe Belgian, can’t tell from the photo], awarded to units of the Army and USMC during WWI and WWII. Authorized for temporary wear for personnel assigned to the unit.
those are not his pants.
Do we really have any reason to believe this is not someone borrowing the uniform of someone else? Or just a run of the mill paulbot? Making, you know, a statement of support for the most current (that we know of) of the MILLIONS of ronpaul supporters in the military. Surely, since there are so many of them, it would be easy enough to get a uniform from just one of them for a little selected message transmission. Using a hunm of carboard box from the nearest dumpster.
Classy. Real classy show this one is.
Got dem ol’ can’t get tossed for DADT no more blues.
The green cord is the French Fourragère — only 5th and 6th Marine Regiments are authorized to wear it for their actions at Belleau Wood in WW1.
And this shit show — not really seeing a Combat Action Ribbon up there.. of course.
@#5 Cheese-eating Surrender Monkey: Sgts and below do not routinely qualify with a pistol, except for certain MOSs, such as MPs and Marines assigned to MSG, so Lord High was making a very safe assumption. SNCO and Officer grades are the only ones required to qualify with the pistol (their T/O weapon) regularly. Sgts and below are required to qualify with the M-16.
The background looks just the Government Center MBTA station at City Hall in Boston.
Keird nailed it. Looks a lot like it was taken at or near the Greenway. And this guy is a total shitbag for demonstrating like that…another Scoot Olsen in the making?
All Marines regardless of rank are required to qualify with both rifle and pistol if their MOS requires it. MP is just one of many. Scout Sniper is also one, small arms repairer/technician is another.
#4-
Unless, he is part of the 5th or 6th Marine Regiments (allowed to wear the Fourragère), and happens to be a WEAPONS MOS Marine (0331 Machine Gunner, 0341 Mortarman, 0351 Assaultman, or 0352 TOW Gunner) then, as a gunner of that weapon system, he rates the M9 as his TO weapon…which would mean that he would have to qualify with it.
So for a man claiming to be a “Lord High Everything else”, you should probably do some homework before speaking.
Unfortunately the so-called “Occupy Marines” have pulled a fast one in an attempt to mainstream the Occupy movement and try to gain some legitimacy. One making the rounds on FB has the “throw them all out” banner on a poster, then turn around and try to claim the only members of Congress with any integrity or courage are Bernie Sanders, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, et al.
Pardon me if I call bullshit on that.
hum, love this site, but what troubles me is all of the HATE and DISCONTENT towards others, regardless of the legitimacy of their actual service or not. I served with great jarheads, and not so great, served with navy, air force, and of course army ( 1972 – 1992 ). But what I fear is the division of both active and non-active members of our military. What unit i served with is not relevant at this time, however, what is of great importance is we must BAND TOGETHER not divide. If we want dictator hussein obama removed from office, then we must stand together and vote for any one but the dictator. I found this blog by googling military medals due to a story i found on the blaze. Over all i like this blog keep up the good work
Simper Fi: i use this for the reason of definition, even though i was army 🙂
#16, I stand corrected; he’s still a fat-body and overall unsat on military appearance, and that sort of thing always leads me to question whether he’s the real deal or not.
@ #15, 16… I know Radiomen and i think Tankers also Pistol Qual (well that was years ago). But a Sgt with ONE hash? WTF, maybe he was Admin 🙂
If he’s in an infantry MOS, there’s almost no way he’d be a Sergeant with just one hashmark. Admin doesn’t qual with a pistol . . . hmm.
Shave, Pyle! Pull up those pants! Did your parents have any children that lived!
Poohbah,
I have seen Sgt’s with one hash…it happened alot after the surge. and there is the Combat Meritorious promotions.
If he was (ever) infantry, with 5th or 6th Marines, then there is actually a good chance he was promoted that fast.
As I said, after 2005, the cutting scores for a lot of the MOS’ dropped. Especially for the weapons MOS’ that I listed earlier (specifically the 0352).
oh yeah, and I agree…he’s still a disgusting fatbody.
TTM, promoted that fast?!? I was promoted to Sergeant (E-5) in just slightly over two years! I was a contract PFC, picked up Lance Corporal at TIS then Corporal, meritoriously, and Sergeant, meritoriously. I served with 3rd AABn, 3rd Amtracs. I was a “Chaser” and had to qualify with the Colt model 1911A1 .45 caliber side arm (in the ’70s).
Yat Yas,
Yep. We were on hard times, now we’re paying the price. Gutting a LOT. the ones that I’m worried about are the 0311’s (Let’s face it, we all support them.) and the 0369’s (I am one of them.)
Atleast his cover fits
I have been pistol qual since I was a Cpl and I am a radio operator.. it wasnt because of my MOS it was just because there was extra 9mm rounds for my unit
