Don’t burn a flag at the VFW

| February 25, 2012

So this guy goes into the local VFW and he was refused service because he didn’t have the proper ID. The guy gets angry and goes outside and burns their flag. The members of the VFW hall were pretty angry and decided to hunt him down. they found him the next day and…well, listen to the story;

Apparently the flag had flown over a foxhole in Iraq where some soldiers paid the ultimate price and the remnants will be laid to rest.

Thanks to Zero for the link.

Just hope they don’t arrest him like the dirt killer.

Not to blame the victim, that is the members of the VFW post, but why have the bar open to the public?

The Duke

Many VFW posts open up the bar to the public for fundraising events and things of that nature. It makes sense to have it open to be public regardless because it brings more money into the organization and this incident is a rarity. I don’t know too many civilians who would walk into a VFW and start shit with a bunch of veterans… Now you know why.

Acutally, this was a story from September 2009. I submitted it to TAH when I was over in the sandbox. It is near my hometown.

Great post nevertheless.

Sadly, I don’t know if “my” post is open to the public. I’ve been a lifetime member since 2004 and only stopped in twice. The one in Baton Rouge welcomes anyone who wishes for a quiet place to drink. Much of the post’s funding comes from bar sales, and they even have a steak night and live band a couple of days a week.

It’s nice to see justice get served in some form or another. If the post would have merely pressed charges, I doubt anything would have come of it.

PALADIN

He damn lucky that’s all he got.

You don’t typically go to the VFW to drink unless you know what you are doing. It sounds like the chucklehead forgot his mil/vet ID and tried to get served with a ‘tender who didn’t know him. He was probably already drunk when he went in (according to the post commander).

I wouldn’t doubt if the guy was a vet and did what he did because he was drunk and stupid. He accepted his punishment, though, as an honorable man would without complaining (another thing that says vet in my mind). Brainless retarded dipshit, but vet.

So he burned THEIR flag? What a dumb fuck, why are they protecting his identity?

1# He volunteered for it, of his own volition. If they forcibly had made him do this, then that would have been a unlawful. It did not come to that.

I do, indeed, live in a time warp. And I like it.

However, the link I sent Jonn was dated a day or so ago – NOT two years ago!
