Bloomberg: Those illegal gun sales? We need more laws to make them more illegal.

| February 6, 2012

ROS sends us a video of that vacuous retard New York keeps hiring as a mayor, Michael Bloomberg in which he expresses his amazement that we haven’t passed more gun laws since Gabrielle Giffords was shot;

He claims that 400k Americans have been shot with privately owned guns since Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy were shot. I guess he forgot that the Gun Control Act of 1968 was also passed as a result of those assassinations – it was probably the most drastic gun control legislation in our history, and if there were indeed 400k people killed by privately owned weapons since 1968 (who knows, because Bloomberg isn’t always quite accurate with his facts) what have more regulations done to reduce handgun crimes?

Bloomberg wants a federal law that prohibits gun ownership which is about the only way to prohibit private ownership transfers. If he wants federal laws, he should quit inflicting himself on the people of New York and run for office in the federal government, maybe he can wrangle a job at BATFE from Obama in the next administration and victimize law abiding citizens across the country with his narrow view of the world.

It must be nice to have armed bodyguards around him all of the time so he can tell the rest of us we shouldn’t own guns.

20,000 gun laws on the books aren’t enough, Bloomy?

Tell ya what–stick with your little shithole in NYC where you can ban all the salt, guns, and transfats you want, and smokes at the bodegas go for $14 a fucking pack and a beer during Happy Hour goes for $7.

Nice little paradise you got there, asshole.

UtahVet

Interesting note – All of those statistics that say X number of people were killed by privately owned guns drop significantly when you remove all of the suicides. In reality, the number of people that are killed by one person actually shooting another is astonishingly low if you look at other per-capita violent crimes. It goes even lower when you rule out hunting accidents.

This past weekend here in Utah a man killed himself and his two children by blowing up his house with natural gas. What is Bloomberg’s solution for that?

Fighting Wombat

Bloomy would ban people from taking a dump in a toilet, if he could. He’s micromanaged NYC into a PC paradise for him and his PC friends…and this assclown was a Republican at one point, before he “saw the light”…

TexasFred

How is it that we still have a definition of MORON in the dictionary?

A simple picture of Bloomberg would suffice.

thebronze

“We support the 2nd Amendment”

Bloomtard is a lying sack of shit, as his his side-kick, Jabba D. Hutt.

NHSparky

Wombat–he was a DNC fundraiser before he switched to the GOP. He did that so he could make it out of the primary and have a semi-decent chance at becoming mayor. Note that he served two terms as a Republican and then went “independent” so he could serve a third term, contrary to the law.

Hell of a way to get something named after ya 30 years after you’re dead.

Marine 83

I wonder if anyone has told Bloomy that the vast majority of his NY gunlaws are unconstitutional and therefore illegal. Fuck him.

Scott

This just in: More people killed with guns in 43 years, than in a four-year long war. Shock and awe!

WOTN

Every year, 40,000 people die in car accidents on the highways.
Every year, 3,000 people die in rock-climbing/rapelling accidents.
These things can actually be Constitutionally banned (though that can be argued.)

What does not leave wiggle room?
“The right of the People to keep and bear arms, shall NOT be infringed.”
SHALL NOT leaves NO wiggle room for argument.
“Infringe” means to make difficult by law.

WOTN

Hitler, Stalin, the Ayatollah(Iran), Kim Il Dong, & Saddam agree: it is a lot easier to rule a populace when they are disarmed.

UpNorth

“It must be nice to have armed bodyguards around him all of the time”. There seems to be a commonality here, from Bloomy to Rosie O to Chuck-U Schumer. They all have bodyguards, so it’s easy to tell us that we don’t have a need for a firearm. After all, everyone is equal, some are just more equal, in their own eyes.

NHSparky

Little memo to Bloomy:

An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

Take that however you like.

ROS

Why is it that the crazies never end the stupid ones? Ugh.

streetsweeper

This from the very same mayor that was running gun buying sting op’s of his own in Arizona….

Smaj

Mikey is truly dangerous and delusion.

NHSparky

Sweep–wait, it gets better. PERFECTLY LEGAL gun sales in Arizona, then TRANSPORTING the weapons across state lines to a jurisdiction that doesn’t have reciprocity, and claiming it’s “illegal”.

Uh, yeah? Your point, Bloomy? A person doesn’t have to know what the gun is used for, nor are they obliged to ask, although if I walked into a store and said, “I need a gun to shoot somebody with,” they’d likely walk out empty-handed.

Funny how the Second Amendment works like that, Bloomy–what do I need a gun for? How about none of your goddamned business?

CI Roller Dude

Assberg is making shit up as he talks….these numnuts have no idea how to do anything to control any kinds of crimes. He mentioned fed gun laws that are not being enforced- how about doing that before putting more controls on guns. None of the gun laws they’ve recently passed in Calif have done a damn thing to stop gun problems…because only the honest citizens follow the rules.
For most of the felons I arrested over 32 years with a gun that they should not have had—the DA almost always plea bargained the gun charges.
what Assberg didnt’ figure out was, if that congress woman who was shot in AZ had been at anything but a Democratic rally, there would have been plenty of decent citizens who were armed and would have stopped that insane murder before he got off 2 shots.
Remember, the police are only 6 minutes away- when you need them in 20 seconds.

DaveO

Democrat, Republican, Independent – just labels. Bloomberg bought his elections. As a billionaire, he could outspend any other candidate, and did.

Considering a number of his alleged sting operations in other states and jurisdictions blew up in his face, are there any arrest warrants out for him?

If not, why not?

Doc Bailey

Hey Bloomie, ever think that the crime rate is so low because you’re affraid to even touch the Guliani Programs that actually, well PUNISHED criminals? That couldn’t be it could it?

Also interesting fact, since Abortion became legal 20 million Americans have died. That’s more than WWII. Also since the Car was invented well people are dropping like flies. There isn’t a day goes by there isn’t a fatal crash on I-5. Hey while we’re at it how many people have been electrocuted? Damn that Edison!

NHSparky

Doc…ease up man. I used to work for SCE and the stupidity of people when it comes to electricity is amazing-almost as totally stupid as liberals and guns.

And CI, we had a case in our town where a homeowner was being threatened and called 911. The cops did show up…2 1/2 HOURS later.

The Dead Man

Doc at least credit Tesla with the electricity thing, Edison was a thief and probably set tech back by a hundred years with some of his actions.

Seriously though, shouldn’t he be worried about the knives and sharp sticks of the world too? How many people in history have died to a little piece of metal? Obviously a serious threat! Okay, so not so serious.

Doc Bailey

hey you know how many people die from infection? I think Obama needs to declare a War on Bacteria.

AW1 Tim

Interestingly, Great Britain banned handguns and severely limited the private ownership of long arms and shotguns. It’s nigh impossible to own a firearm there. Since then, GUN crimes have dropped dramatically.

However, ARMED robberies, burglaries and assaults have risen to record numbers. The weapon of choice? The knife. Now guess what Parliament is considering?

Yup. Some of the wet-their-pants nanny=state enablers in Parliament want to ban the private ownership of knives, including steak knives, butcher knives, cleavers, etc.

These morons claim that the local butchers should be licensed to own such weapons, and that the citizens who need their meat(s) cut up can have it done by the butcher when they buy it. I.Kid.You.Not.

There should be NO prohibitions or laws of any type infringing upon the private ownership of any firearm. None whatsoever. Any citizen should be free to purchase and carry any weapon that he or she can afford and feels comfortable with. Our laws should be written to punish people for their ACTIONS, to enforce personal responsibility, rather than to act as a prophylactic and attempt to control what a person MIGHT do.

Our second amendment is crystal clear. It is beyond me why politicians have such a hard time with that concept.

Nicki

Those questionable statistics he cites also include criminal on criminal firearms homicides. So if two gangbangers kill each other in a drug shootout, he’s counting that as well. Much like the Brady Center considers a 19 year old (the prime age for criminal and gang activity is 16-21) shot in the commission of a crime a child, the drooling retard from New York simply makes no distinction between circumstances.

Dick.

swamper

Do a little research on the origin of New York’s gun laws. They go back to around 1911 with the Sullivan Act. Ole Sullivan was one of them corrupt politicians back then.

Nicki

Mencken also did a pretty good critique of the Sullivan Act in 1920, if I’m not mistaken.

Spigot

Bloomberg is nothing but a Bitch, hence his need for an EP Detail, 24×7 at taxpayer expense.

If he had anything resembling a nut-sack…if he were a man, he’d be able to protect himself.

The Sniper

I loved the spot that he and the mayor of Boston did during the Super Bowl.
“Hi, we’re both HUGE supporters of the Second Amendment and your right to bear arms… except for the part that allows you to have a gun. Like, maybe a halberd or a small pocket knife or something, but not guns. Oh, and we’re also in favor of severe limitations on halberd and small pocket knife ownership.”

Fuggin tools.

AliceH

@29 I’ll give Bloomberg my halberd when he takes it from my cold, dead hands.
