A Moment of Melancholy? A REAL Geezer Alert.
Three years ago a good man passed away. He was a front line guy in the then mostly new MilBlog genre. He allowed a bunch of ‘Nam vets an outlet.
Been on my mind, an odd bit of synchronicity of sorts. I won’t even try to explain.
Bill and I had a trivial falling out, but I certainly never lost respect for the man.
Several who comment at TAH were posters at OWD.
A pal of ours has kept OWD alive as an archive of sorts.
There really is no point here… just thinking about what was. Bill couldn’t make it to GoE-1 in 07, but he was there.

Without clicking a link, you must be talking about the great person that was/is Bill Faith. When he was getting OWD’s cranked up, I was new at Cafepress, and did up the first of his designs, (which are still on sale in my shop, with profits going to support the troops), and my then companion, “Sunny” was the very first “Old War Dog” mascot. I enjoyed working with Bill, and through him met, (online), Zero Ponsdorf.
He is missed.
Funny you should mention Bill. Was having some similar thoughts about him this week.
Funny you three should mention it. I happened to be thinking about Bill myself the last few days… I hope the good Lord has him standing beside him, ready to do battle actually.
Cross-posting “Sheepdogs” to my FB page…
Here is a link to the apparel site that I set up to get a first apparel check to Bill. If any of you think you’d like something from there, hit me first and I will remove my profit, wanting to show the design rather than make a buck off OWD’s.
Might help if I would include the link before sending the comment: http://www.cafepress.com/frankopinions/1626434
LOL Frankie!
Real weird. I’ve been thinbking of Bill quite a bit for the past several weeks. Is he sending us some kind of signal? Miss him much. A true patriot and supporter of all veterans.
