Coast Guard to protect grain shipment from Occu-spazes

| January 13, 2012

Old Trooper sends a link to the Daily Caller which reports that President Obama is sending the Coast Guard to Washington State’s Port of Longview to protect a grain shipment to Asia from those Occu-tards;

The group of leftwing activists had shut down ports all along the West Coast on Dec. 8, including the Port of Longview. The Coast Guard will apparently be helping the ship load its grain at the port, and then depart for Asia, safely.

The local unions and “Occupy” groups are planning to band together to protest the Coast Guard protections of the grain shipment when it happens.

Apparently it’s a protest just for the sake of protesting according to The Daily News;

“We just want to swell the population of the city to show there are people behind us,” said Jeff Washburn, president of the Cowlitz Wahkiakum Central Labor Council, which passed a resolution calling for a protest this week.

He added that the labor council plans no attempt to stop the ship, a sentiment echoed in a similar call for protest by leaders of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.

However, the Occupy movement it taking a more aggressive stance, calling for members nationwide to gather outside Port of Longview gates and thwart efforts to load the ship….

What is there about a grain shipment to protest? Talk about some mental masturbation.

Frankly Opinionated

So, the Union, whose job it is to load the ships properly and efficiently, (HA! That’s a hoot!), feel that they should protest the opportunity to earn a days pay? Perhaps the grain should be shipped to Vancouver BC so the Canadians can have the income.
One more union that has outlived its charter.

@1: The union thugs that are protesting are pissed because the terminal hired a different union to do the work at that port, so it has more to do with one union mad because another union was hired to do the work. They have stormed that particular port in the past (this past Fall) and held security hostage as they vandalized several rail cars full of grain.

The truth is it has nothing to do with hiring union workers, but rather which union gets the contract (I guess we can forget about that whole union brotherhood thingy, eh?)

OT, correct. Solidarity Forever!!! Unless you guys fuck with my gravy train.
Hey, this will be another chance for the Occutard, Lotus, to put her 4yr old on the tracks to stop the train. After all, no engineer would not stop his train if he saw people on the tracks, right?

Just watched this really great film that I would recommend for all Coast Guardsmen and Sailors. It is called Ballast.
For those of you who might not know what Ballast is, it is the wieght put in the bottom of a ship to give it stablity.
You can watch the movie for free on the internet so there is no excuse not to see it.

Gee……. The President ordering the US Coast Guard to protect a shipment of grain bound for China. No political overtones there. Nope. Nada.

Nothing to see here folks, move along!

“What is there about a grain shipment to protest? Talk about some mental masturbation.” That’s exactly what I was thinking? What is the point of this? These are a group of criminals looking for something to sabotage, that’s it. Attempting to hold businesses and individuals hostage for what…? They are even more incoherent then they were before.

Doc Bailey

I would ask why we still tolerate this. when you have to protect food shipments, and have police forces blowing their yearly budget in months (for over time) and we have unsanitary conditions at their main gathering sites. I’m all for using the fair hand, but isn’t there a point where you say enough is enough?

streetsweeper

There is a flip side to this, friends. The Coast Guard already has a unit nearby so their presence isn’t putting too much of strain on anyone’s budget, AND? If either the Occupussies OR union wimps do decide to do something stupid inside the boundaries of the Port of Longview, the USCG has no problem shutting them down…Been there, seen that.

OWB

@#5 S.G Wouldn’t that be “2 z’s?”

OWB

@#8, Doc, the reason for all this is still the same. “They” are training, fine tuning their tactics, collecting intel on the official response, etc. We will put up with it as long as we are told to or until we replace the nuts who are funneling funds to them.

Sure hope I am wrong about this, but they are the foot soldiers, or at least the advance team, in the fun and games we can expect to see next summer leading into the election. How bad it gets depends upon how much disruption is necessary to maintain power.

No surprise to see an alliance between the occuturds and the unions since they are already on the same team. And it ain’t mine.
