Email about Jasper Lake.
It has been a while since I last talked about this, so when I got this email this morning that surprised me. Everyone remembers Jasper Lake the person that was trying to get people to send him money to get his alleged Medal of Honor. Well I received a email that claims that everything we know about his is rumors from envy.
As far as we know the case is still before the Senate Arms Committee, Governer J. Brewwer and Senater McCain have reveiwed it.
We read the DD 214 of JAsper Lake of his combat actions and it does reflect his actions.
Remeber he is not a MOH receipient yet, he is a nominee for the MOH. Too many rumors and envy has cirulated about this case. Our organization is still pursueing this issue. IT will be up to congress to approve it.
I sent a email to him to see the supporting documents. We shall see if they are willing to produce.

Funny, but my DD214 doesn’t reflect any of my “combat actions”. I guess I should get it amended.
I asked which part of the DD-214 was the combat experience block. The answer should be interesting.
I think Lake probably wrote that himself. The spelling and syntax in that quote are both atrocious, and fall in line with his earlier “I deserve this award” statement.
It is not, the person the email was registered to is a Paulson Bronston the Kayenta Veterans Organization’s Commander. . He is the person that placed the Army Commendation Medal On Lake last December.
Senater McCain? Wow. Just wow.
Instead of petitioning McCain, perhaps Spc/SFC Lake should contact John Kerry. He’s an expert in fake medals.
I like the fact that is it before “Governer (sic) J. Brewwer (sic).” I’m not sure where she falls on the routing for a Congressional action.
From the link that Spork provided: http://www.kvoi.org/Meet-the-Navajo-Nation-Preside.html
“KVOI executive staff met with Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly, to talk about KVOI and continuation of support for Jasper Lake, Medal of Honor Nominee. The president supports the action of KVOI on veterans issues and made some recomendations.”
Added by Sporkmaster:I took a screen shot just in case they deleted the link.
Is it just me or do people who say they think they “deserve” something, usually not?
MoH recipients DON’T “campaign” for an award…
Even IF he did some crazy macho shit and did actually deserve one, he should be refused an MoH based upon the fact that he’s that much of an ass to actually write a letter with 2nd grade level grammar to ask for one..
Jesus tapdancing Christ, how did this Bronston guy become the face for any organization? You’d think the guy put in charge to represent your outfit would have some aptitude for professional correspondence.
Odd beyond words. Weird begins to cover it, but not really.
Anyone want to help commission a poll of MoH recipients to see how many have paid for the honor? Naw – you are correct – we don’t need to because we already know that the number is zero, none, nada, zilch.
Naw, this just can’t be. Just can’t. I’ve got to go outside, walk around, and see if this story is really here when I return.
Dammit.
@4: “the fidelity” medal? That’s the Army good conduct medal, and they didn’t even do their homework on that And medal fo “iraq campaign” IS the “iraqi Freedom” medal. . . wow you can tell whoever wrote this had no fucking clue what they were saying.
Ok now I’m going to need to ask, because I’ve had a cerebral infarct: what action was he involved in that somehow even comes close to earning the MOH? I’m pretty sure I’d have heard if someone in the 25th did anything near as awesome.
They even misspelled Fidelity in the news article. “Fedility”. The view from the handbasket is getting very hot & dusty.
I haven’t seen an email this misspelled since the fund transfer request from the president of the Nigerian National Bank.
@Doc – I left 1/25 [1/5IN] not long before they deployed, and from talking with friends, the BDE was on the periphery of Falluja for a short time and in Mosul. Plenty of action, but nothing on the level of Ganjgal. If there was an opportunity for Lake to display heroism, it certainly would have been noticed.
This whole ‘my records don’t reflect my stunning bravery’ crap is barely below the ‘my records are sealed due to my awesome black-op-iness’ BS.
@18: yeah and “I have a drawer full of awards but I can’t show you them because the missions are still classified”
A quick editing job. As far as we know[,] the case is still before the Senate Arms [sic]Committee ,[sic] Governer[sic] J. Brewwer[sic] and Senater[sic] McCain have reveiwed[sic] it.

2/17AirCav … That’s ‘sic’!!!
Stated in a link concerning this post,
“…No one gets random medals in the mail…”
I would like to share the following events concerning the above quote.
After being wounded in Vietnam and spending three months in a hospital in Yokohama, Japan, I was sent home in November, 1969. I reported to Ft. Hood, Texas in December, 1969 and upon calling my parents to notify them that I had arrived safely, my dad stated that I had received a package in the mail from the Department Of The Army. I stated that I would be coming home (Austin) to pick up my “civies” and the package. To our surprise, the package contained the Bronze Star with V device in it’s container along with the citation in it’s green hardback folder for action in July, 1969 (General Orders Number 3393, 27 October, 1969). I had no knowledge that I had been put in for this award. It was never awarded to me during an award ceremony but was noted on my DD214. Both my Bronze Star and Purple Heart have my name inscribed on the back of the medal.
@15- I imagine the citation would read a bit like this-
December 13th, 2006- Specialist Lake boldly strode out of his barracks, in the face of mild sleep deprivation, and mustered for divisional quarters. It was there that the order came down- he was going in, and things were going to get messy. Mere minutes later, amid the fury of a planned maintenance schedule, he found himself turning wrenches. Elbow deep in what used to be the life blood of his truck’s diesel engine, he valiantly performed an oil change, saving the engine’s life. After steadfastly weathering an assault on his hands by an unusually abrasive pumice soap, he then gallantly strode towards the mess hall, obtaining a meal of hot dogs and chips. They were salty chips; as salty as the briny deep itself. Specialist Lake, without regard for either the ruffled texture or the sodium content and it’s impact on his blood pressure, ate those chips, pouring the last crumbs directly into his mouth. It is due to these actions that Specialist Jasper Lake is hereby recommended for the Congressional Medal of Honor.

@#23:
Got me on that one with a mouthful of Juice of the grape. Now to dismantle and hose down the keyboard, again…..
Thanks Teddy996,,,,,
Excellent Teddy!
Sounds just about right, teddy, except there are entirely too many correctly spelled words…
TAH causes me to spray coffee in the morning some days, and definitely spray an adult beverage in the evening.
Teddy, there just has to be a market out there for you write up citations for derelicts.
@23
They were salty chips; as salty as the briny deep itself.
If only they had been cheese puffs and he’d gotten the orange crud all over his fingers, there’d be no question in anyone’s mind that he deserved the award.
Jesus, isn’t it enough that the guy be proud of what he did and leave it at that? Why, for the effin love of Christ do people have to puff themselves up for shit they know damned well they don’t deserve?
@12: OWB; they pay every day of their rest of their lives. I wouldn’t want those memories of why I was even considered for one.
That they do, OT. Sorry for having worded that so poorly. I meant with $$, of course.
Normal folks feel as you do about it.
@27- Great idea for a side business, Up North!
Notice to Jasper Lake and anyone else who decides to run a campaign in order to get a MoH for doing a commendable yet routine job: I’ll be happy to help you out with a write-up. After all, a bold and inspiring citation just might mean the difference between recieving a MoH, a DSC, or just some crummy Silver Star- and you don’t want to be THAT guy.
[…] 2011 I got a response from the Kayenta Veterans Organizationafter I replied back to their earlier email in regards to Jasper Lake. Email 1. May I ask who you represent and wht you do? […]
