‘My intent was exactly what I did’: Woman carried out promise to shoot husband if he ever laid a hand on her, police say
Story by Jamie Frevele
A Texas woman purportedly told her husband that if he ever laid a hand on her, she would make it the last time he ever did so.Sandy Micheal Williams, 45, was arrested on Monday after police arrived at her home in Bridgeport, Texas, the night before and found her husband, 46-year-old Michael C. Thomas, dead with multiple gunshot wounds. According to court documents obtained by local ABC affiliate WFAA, Williams met police at the front door after her father-in-law called authorities around 10 p.m. to report that she had fatally shot his son.
Police said Williams complied with orders when they took her to the Wise County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday night. According to court documents, Williams said she and Thomas had been married for three years and had a verbal argument on Sunday that became physical. She claimed that Thomas grabbed her by the ponytail and pulled her down to the floor. Thomas then went upstairs, at which point Williams retrieved a gun, followed him, and shot him, police said.
Williams told police that she warned Thomas that if he ever laid a hand on her, she would make sure it was the last time he ever would. When police questioned her about shooting Thomas, she told them, “My intent was exactly what I did.” She was also asked by investigators if she intended to kill Thomas, to which she responded, “I absolutely hoped I would.”

Ms. Williams needs a lawer most ricky-tick.

Philly! LOL
I was taught never to hit a woman. I thought it was because women are smaller and weaker. After living 69 years and gaining some experience I’ve come to the conclusion that the old guys taught that lesson for another reason. Self preservation. Women have a long memory and you will be repaid. Either immediately as this idiot learned; or in the future.
A co-worker had a Cutlass he was rather proud of and his wife drove it. She put a small ding on it and he figured it was his right to correct her for driving his car. Later while sleeping he said he woke with a weight on his chest. It was her, with a straight razor. She got his chest, he raised his arms for protection and she got those. While throwing her off she got in a few more cuts. Trying to disarm her led to some more cuts for his hands. At this point he figured this was a bad idea and turned to run. She got his back and a couple more cuts at his legs. It took over a hundred stitches to sew his hide back together. I know this because he showed up at work wanting some time off.
Last I heard they were still married. I you hit one, leave.
A woman once pointed a pistol at my own personal nose. After I successfully took the pistol from her, I was chewed out for not hitting the panic button to summon security. I explained that had it been a knife, I would have called the nearest airborne division. I have found nothing I’m more afraid of than a angry woman with a knife.
As concurred by John Bobbit.
Bummer of a name: bobb-it.
Turned out to be kinda prophetic.
W-T-A-F!? Was that Philly? Or Texas?!
Is see Philly ain’t big into PT or Height/Weight.
I have to wonder how long the abuse had gone on before Ms Williams finally said “ENOUGH!”
Lady, a divorce would have been cheaper and easier in the long run.
Then again, I understand that prison is considered a nice retirement plan.
Given her statements I doubt any attorney would be looking forward to winning an acquittal, especially when hubby’s Dad was a witness.
I’m not excusing hubby’s actions at all but what she claimed happened really doesn’t rise to the shooting / killing in self defense. She really should have just left and called the Police and had him arrested. Then while he was in the pokey she could have pulled her belongings from where they were staying and gone elsewhere.
Was it my poor vision or were all the women in that recruiting video considerably overweight?
I’m still trying to figure out what exactly they are recruiting.
Curious, I went to the article to try and figure Ms Williams ethnic background.
I’m almost sorry that I did. I won’t say that she’s been rode hard and put away wet, but at the least, life has not been kind to her.
Possibly short fuse Irish ancestry?
Pretty pistol but more than a touch too pricey.
Is a touch more or less than a tidbit? Maybe it depends on where you’re from or what the context is. Dental work needs more precision than a tad, a touch or a tidbit. Ya’ know it when ya’ see it!
How about a scooch?
Go price something like a Clark 1911 and you’ll be grateful for the CZ. Or a Python, a Model 629 Classic, or any other ‘nice’ gun. Well north of a grand and a whole bunch are north of two grand.
I will say though – if I could blow the cash, that Shadow would get my Benjamins. It quite literally feels like someone made the pieces from spare bank vault steel, and it is fitted as tightly. Very few guns feel as solid.
You have a point… I have already had Pythons, Anacondas, S&W 29 but never had a S&W 586. Never had a CZ, either, but I like this one. Maybe if the price gets “just right” 🙂
