There are times one expects to see a clown or, at least, doesn’t mind seeing one. Then there those times that Bozo himself would send one screaming for the door. Seeing Bozo about to perform surgery on you is one. Seeing Bozo piloting the airliner you just boarded is another. Bozo in the White House is expected nowadays. Ditto Congress.

Street #1: I have blood pressure pills, diabetes pills, paranoid pills, and silly pills.
No happy pills. Nope, for happy I drink beer… but because of all those other pills I don’t that very often. Go figure?

Going in for a vasectomy as an out patient with only a local and hearing a muttered, “Oops” …
THAT would make a guy nervous in the service.
Clowns, dummies, mimes… slightly freaky all, and oddly enough, could be used in a political context as well.
#7 As for surgery, hearing “oops” or “um” would be pretty harsh. During one of my eye surgeries, I heard the doc say “That’s odd…” as he was examining a part of my eye that he had just removed.
