AWOL kidnapper a Stolen Valor candidate,too?
TSO sent me all of this shit about this assclown, Derik Hembree, who Fox News says is an AWOL Private who kidnapped his daughter;
Authorities are continuing to search for an AWOL U.S. soldier who is suspected of kidnapping his 1-month-old daughter.
Colorado Springs police say Army Pvt. Derik Hembree, 24, disappeared on August 4 and is wanted on a warrant for allegedly violating a custody order. Hembree has been AWOL since May, according to the U.S. Army.
Well, TSO dug up these pictures of him in uniform, Here he is in all of his finery. Notice the E-4 rank and the qual badges.I think he’s wearing a CIB – it must be a CIB because he’s wearing the blue cord and the badge is blue. I can’t get the brass blown up far enough and still be clear, but it doesn’t look like crossed rifles. And his regimental crest is not an infantry unit I recognize;
And everyone knows that jump wings go above the air assault wings. I can’t make out what that ribbon above his Purple Heart, maybe you can tell. it almost looks like a Bronze Star.
Now in the next picture, he’s wearing a CAB and that’s not an infantry unit patch that I recognize:

Yeah, so if the AWOL and kidnapping charges aren’t enough, throw him in jail for Stolen Valor, but he’s in Colorado so that means it’s his right to wear whatever he wants to wear.

It may be a foreign badge. I thought transportation, and then checked Marlow White for Logistician Branch (which it kind’f resembles). There was no pic of the Psyop, but it’s none of the CSS crests.

Found a former soldier that served in Iraq. He was an E-1 when he left came back and E-3. On Facebook it shows him with E-7 rank and when last seen he was an E-3. He did a tour in Korea and it is believed that he’s out now…. so that didn’t add up. A few pictures later he’s in class A uniform with a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with jump wings and either a CIB or EIB as well as others. This guy was a truck driver. While he was overseas he was caught forging the CO’s name on his profiles and forging the profiles form the TMC to try to keep himself setting in the AC while the rest worked in the heat.

BTW That looks like an EIB but no blue backgrounds on the brass to go with the blue rope. I think I am more pissed about guys trying to impersonate Infantry personnel and don’t pay attention to the details then I am about them doing it to get chicks or free drinks. Appropriate punishment would be to make them go through Infantry OSUT in July or August in addition to any jail time and fines.

Obviously, a big part of me agrees with you JAG, getting the kid back is CERTAINLY the #1 priority. But I want to put the asshats like Dr. Phil on notice for when they start the inevitable “he was in the infantry, tip of the spear, war made him do this” type shit that they have nothing on which to base that yet. I feel shitty even having to bring this stuff up, but it has happened so many times before….

I’ve never seen a specialist putting his arm around a general like that either. Seems weird, but I guess it’s a whole new army. Smoking cigarettes on submarines is now strictly prohibited, smoking dicks is just fine. Perhaps hugging generals is now fine too.
Also, didn’t anyone notice the service stripes on his sleeve? Each one is three years right? That’s what I seem to remember. He has four of them. 4 X 3 = 12. So he has twelve years of service and he’s an E-4 in that pic. I guess he was later busted down to PV-nothing. Also, he must have joined the army at the age of twelve. And he’s playing pocketpool in his class A pants.

The only plus is that this douche is subject to UCMJ. Doesn’t matter what Colorado courts say is okay for civilians, it is still illegal for this punk it impersonate a NCO or wear honors not earned.
The only thing that we have that said that he deployed was the statements from the people who reported them.
Gary: true, but the Army gives precedence to local/state/other Federal agencies when it comes to prosecution and punishment. The Army will have him serve some small time in PCF, then give him a BCD and off he goes.

This guy was DFR’d 3 months ago. He was set to be punished for a myriad of offenses. He has deployed once and was non-deployable when he went AWOL. Is was busted to PV2 in the early spring. The mother of his baby is married to another Soldier that was recently discharged and while seeing her, he was living with another spouse of a deployed Soldier.

What is the punishment for a soldier wearing the wrong rank on his ACU’s. I.E an E3 wearing E4 rank?

It is an EIB on his left above the Air Assault, and it is a BSM with “V” device above his “PH”. Also in the pic where he is wearing SFC rank he is wearing an MP crest on his beret, also look at the bottom of his ribbon rack, he has an Afghanistan Campaign ribbon on the bottom right when it should be with the OIF ribbon. Also you can tell he is too young to be an E-7 anyway, because unless he ages really wellllll for that rank is min 14y TIS and 2y TIG as an E-6. That is getting a waiver for the TIS for 14. Also most all of the Tier 1 ops I know don’t broadcast….they are proud, but they don’t broadcast. As a former 11B OIF let me get hold of him. If he is in Colorado I will have some friends from Carson watch out for him.
