Freedom of Speech and the Democrats

| August 26, 2008

I read with some small measure of satisfaction this quote from a Denver protester at Bloodthirsty Liberal;

“At one point we didn’t know what we were going to do, we were going to get arrested or maced,” said the recent Community College of Denver graduate.

Kenzie said police never asked for her identification.

“I haven’t been able to vote for a president yet, but this was an epiphany,” she said. “My freedom of speech was suppressed.”

No, little Kenzie, your freedom to act like a buffoon in public was suppressed – so the rest of us can live in peace. Now, if you want to see some freedom of speech suppressed, look at the real deal.

Don Surber writes that the Obama campaign is trying to sue broadcasting stations that run the ad linking Obama’s politcal career to Bill Ayers;

Did I make a mistake and tell the truth?

My bad.

The ad that Obama does not want you to see.

Please, do not click it.

It comes from one of the people who funded the Swift Boat ads and a former campaign staffer for Republican Sen. John McCain.

ABC News’ Tahman Bradley reported:

The Obama campaign is using a new television ad to take on the issue of Obama’s association with a 1970s radical who bombed the Capitol and Pentagon.

And this:

Obama has denounced Ayers’ actions with the radical group, but has also referred to Ayers as “mainstream” and “respectable,” a point that conservatives continue to pound the soon-to-be Democratic nominee about.

OK, so Obama is standing by Ayers.

Michelle Malkin says there’s a chill wind blowing;

The Obama campaign is giving a glimpse of the future for conservative free speech. They’re trying to sic the Justice Department on TV stations, many of them Sinclair Broadcasting stations, that are airing the independent ad on Obama and Bill Ayers.

Feel the chill in the air?

By the way, according to Gateway Pundit, Michelle Malkin’s freedom of speech was getting suppressed last night in Denver;

What started out as another failed Leftist protest turned violent.

Conservative pundit and author Michelle Malkin who was there to cover the protest as a reporter was attacked!!!

Pictures are coming.
Exclusive Video coming soon at Pajamas Media.

Notorious Leftist conspiracy theorist Infowars ambushed Michelle Malkin and fellow protesters at the Rrecreate 68 protest!

The “Kill Malkin” video from the People’s Press Collective;

ARVE Error: need id and provider

So being a loudmouthed tart like Kinzie should be protected from getting a little pepper spray, while actual grownups doing their job informing voters is open for lawsuits and physical violence. Now, I’ve disagreed with Michelle Malkin on occasion, but not to the point of shouting “Kill Malkin”.

It’s hard to watch that video and not pick up a baseball bat and drive to Denver. I’ve been in that position and it’s pretty frightening…especially when you can see the nut-sized brained morons feeding off of each other’s rage and working each other up into a frenzy. But their movement is driven by emotions so we can only expect emotional responses from them, I suppose.

And I’ve yet to hear of a Republican candidate urging that a Democrat ad be suppressed when it contained the truth.

Kudos to Michelle. I haven’t always agreed with her, but she has guts! And bigger cajones than the blue shirted big mouth with his pack of morons backing him up.

Don’t these protestors realize that with youtube and blogs such as this one, how they come off as the brown shirts that they are? I mean yesterday, it was “Eff Fox News”, now with this incident with Michelle, it’s “Kill Michelle Malkin”, they sound like homicidal lunatics!

Frankly Opinionated

Jonn:
Must I keep calling attention to the fact that the Democrats will never, ever allow the facts to interfere with their story; and as this illustrates, nor to allow the facts to be considered in a story affecting them. If they say it- it is so.
This latest is in direct alignment with their claims that the Right wing has taken over the airwaves. It is of no consequence that there is no sponsor base for their unlistened to drivel. They don’t understand the concept of “No listeners, no sponsors.” OTOH; Right Wing Radio does in fact, have a listener base, hence a self supporting medium free of gummint fetters. It is all about accurate portrayal of the facts, folks.
