Gorelick on short list for FBI?
You remember Jamie Gorelick, right? She was the woman responsible for the memo which erected the “wall” between intelligence gathering agencies and law enforcement agencies during the Clinton Administration. This is generally accepted by rational people to be the main cause of the failure of the US government to detect the 9-11 hijackers. Gorelick, then somehow got appointed to the 9-11 Commission and covered up her responsibility and that of the Clinton Administration for the attacks. Its widely believed that the documents which Sandy Berger smuggled out of the National Archives would have verified the connection.
Well, now the Obama Administration is considering he for the FBI Director post soon to be vacated by Bush-appointee Robert Mueller. It’s probably be pay-off to Gorelick for covering up for Democrats during the 9-11 Commission.
I’m just surprised that Sandy Berger wasn’t appointed as the National Archivist.

Hopefully it is a rumor…but nothing should surprise those of us who are paying attention. Nothing.
If you want to make a government organization worse any of the usual democratic appointments will do but if you really want to destroy the organization bring in Jamie Gorelick.

Actually, I think everyone in this administration is just that stupid.
But, if they do nominate her, it’ll give us a chance to watch the circus that will definitely unfold. Maybe Sandy Burglar will testify in her behalf?
Taking rare exception to Moe’s comments: gender has nothing to do with her philosophy and actions.
As for this being a serious nomination: Mr. Obama’s administration demonstrates a very disturbing trend:
1. Many of its political appointees are recycles from the Clinton administration, the balance comes from academia. Almost none have experience in private commerce.
2. Almost none of the appointees have achieved success in their former positions. Holder and Gorelick are examples of this trend. Former governors Sebelius and Napolitano had some success, but had hit the ceiling. *I do expect Napolitano to run for senator shortly.
3. Their parachute isn’t golden – it’s pure Platinum. Whatever happens, they will not face any consequences for their actions.
So Gorelick being considered is very real. She will serve a purpose, which is to support Holder by any means at DOJ.
It’s by design, and not cluelessness as I once thought.
To my mind, if you really want a comparable organization to the Obama crew, just look at the Mafia.
Did it ever occur to any of the silly buggers to promote a current or former FBI AGENT?!? You know, someone who might actually UNDERSTAND how to run the Bureau. Or, does that make too much sense?
