Dig in your own backyard

The Wall Street Journal’s Washington Wire reports that a new Leftist advocacy group formed by a former MoveOn big banana is offering a $100,000 reward for anyone who provides evidence of shenanigans committed by conservative political groups;

The liberal organization, Accountable America, was formed to combat conservative donors or organizations who run ads attacking the Democratic Party and its congressional candidates.

“They’re really operating on the assumption that they can remain in the shadows,” Judd Legum, an adviser to the group. “That’s one of the primary ways to accomplish what we’re looking for. If you can shed some light on these organizations and the people who fund them, you’ll end up with a better result.”

The idea is to create a sense of scandal around the groups, said founder Tom Matzzie, recently a key leader of MoveOn.org. “We really want to ask these donors whether they want to be associated with some of these people,” Matzzie said.

Wonder why there’s no group offering such a reward to catch Liberal groups? They’d go broke paying out rewards.

Michelle Malkin has the letter they mailed out to conservative donors warning them of Accountable AMericas plans to intimidate the folks who fund getting our views out.

This sounds like another Soros-funded project that expects to never pay out a reward, but instead just casts an untoward shadow over conservatives in general. If they want to impress me, they can start with some of the voting irregularities already committed this year, or investigate Al Gore and his Buddist Temple donations.

Of course on their first day in operation, Accountable America takes pride in being the target of the Right;

It’s Day One at Accountable America and right-wing veterans of the Swift Boat effort are already on the attack:

Chris LaCivita, a Republican strategist who helped organize the Swift Boat effort, said Mr. Matzzie’s group was likely to have the opposite effect on potential donors, firing them up instead of discouraging them.

“They’re not going to be intimidated by some pipsqueak on the kooky left,” Mr. LaCivita said.

The New York Times lets them get away with misusing the term “Swiftboating”;

“We want to stop the Swift Boating before it gets off the ground,” said Mr. Matzzie, who described his effort as “going for the jugular.”

So you want us to stop telling the truth before it “gets off the ground”, Matzzie?

They want to stop the Swiftboating before it starts. I can believe that in a democrat since ‘Swiftboating’ means to tell the truth about a democrat. No way a democrat could win the job of dog catcher if the ‘truth’ about them was known.

GI JANE

Matzzie’s lame attempt at anti-war/pro-terrorist fundraising failed miserably, so now he’s trying his hand at a more ‘lucrative’ venture; i.e. “politics”.

“Accountable America” needs to be investigated for stalking, and violations of the RICO statute.
Tom Matzzie should be slapped upside his fat head for concocting such a laughable, ridiculous attempt at political blackmail.

Don’t look now Matzzie, but the floor’s about to meet your face.
