On “confidence and commitment”

| September 1, 2010

If you are a fan of TAH on Facebook, you got a hint of this last night. I didn’t watch the President’s address to the nation last night. I had patio furniture to assemble. So I’ve had to read the speech to find out what he told the nation. Unfortunately, I could only get to the third paragraph and this line;

…this milestone should serve as a reminder to all Americans that the future is ours to shape if we move forward with confidence and commitment…

I don’t know who the hell he was talking about when he said “we”. There was absolutely no “confidence and commitment” from the moment three congressmen stood on the roof of one of Saddam’s palaces and told someone from the MSM that they had more confidence in Saddam’s words than they did in our own president. There was no confidence and commitment in those peace pimps who volunteered to be human shields for Hussein’s war machine.

Where was the “confidence and commitment” when Congress tried seven times in 2007 to shut off funding for the war and the troops? And now they want credit for the current conditions in Iraq.

Both Obama and Biden spoke out against the surge, and now they act like it was their idea. Biden is even walking back on his plan to partition Iraq saying that was never his plan in the first place.

Yeah, I’m glad I didn’t watch it on TV last night or I’d be out shopping for a new flat screen today.

To borrow from a certain individual, someone needs to calibrate these people with a sockful of quarters.

While I’m not real fond of McCain, he said something about this. Something to the effect that a good leader gives credit to his people when he succeeds and takes the blame when he fails…. As for 0bama, it’s just, “all about me”, when it comes to anything that goes well for our country.

Hopefully, we will never have to hear anything more about there being, “patriots on both sides” of the issue.

Jonn, or anyone-

Do please tell me the difference between war and combat would you?
A liberal thinker has said to me that the war in Iraq is not over but there is no combat in Iraq. Er, maybe she meant that there is a war in the ‘Stan, but not in Iraq? Or maybe, she’s just a brain dead Rachel Maddow follower.

I didn’t even try to watch last night. Couldn’t stand to listen to how wonderful he thinks he is. Watched baseball instead. Not a big fan of baseball (yawn).

I tried to pay attention to “The One’s” speech. But, then I turned it into a drinking game and got trashed in 15 minutes

If only his ability was equal to his ego…

I watched Rachel Zoe. Bradley had a melt down after Rachel got mad at him. It’s a wonderful train wreck of a show.
