Poll: Left and right support for political assassinations higher than you think
The Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) discovered in a recent poll that women were more likely than men to believe that political assassinations are justified. Respondents were presented with two political figures, President Donald Trump and New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Respondents were asked questions related to the justification of assassinating the two individuals. The folks who supported specific political assassinations were not among the fringe groups who would normally support assassinations. Support for targeted political assassinations appear to be higher than what most think among both sides of the political isle.
From Daily Wire:
Women on both the Left and the Right were 14% to 20% more likely than men to believe the political assassination of high-profile figures could be justified, the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) found. The poll comes amid a spike in political violence marked by the assassinations of Charlie Kirk and UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, as well as the attempt on President Donald Trump’s life.
What is most surprising about the findings, according to NCRI’s co-founder Joel Finkelstein, is that those who justified political assassinations were not part of traditional high-risk groups, but people of all persuasions and demographics.
“We dug into the data because this felt like it was describing a deeper moral crisis,” Finkelstein told The Daily Wire. “We assumed young men would be driving this, given unemployment, disengagement, and declining graduation rates. That’s why we explicitly examined gender. What surprised us, honestly shocked us, was that women were more likely to show tolerance for political violence.”
To conduct the poll, NCRI used CloudResearch Prime Panels, from a nationally representative sample of American adults concerning political attitudes, public figures, and views on the future of the United States. Respondents were asked to rate, on a seven-point scale, “How unjustified or justified would someone be if they killed Zohran Mamdani?” and “How unjustified or justified would someone be if they killed Donald Trump?”
Although women commit far fewer murders in the United States — accounting for roughly 13% of all killings over the past five years — the poll found they were more likely than men to say a political assassination could be justified. Specifically, 54.7% of women compared with 45.2% of men expressed some justification for Mamdani, while 57.1% of women expressed some justification for Trump, compared to 50.1% of men.

You are kind of in a difficult polling position when half the population that you are president of approves of your being assassinated.
I think political corruption should carry the death penalty.
And since governments often refuse to hold themselves accountable, sometimes assassinations feel like justice.
And that doesn’t even address tyrants. All tyrants deserve a brutal death.
I’m detecting an inconsistency here. What about the 580 or so inmates on death row in California? As reprehensible as political corruption is, does it rise to the level of 1st degree murder?
Define political corruption. Define tyrant. Justify and explain when an assassination is justified.
Son, you tend to use a lot of buzzwords that have squishy meanings. As an example, due to yesterday’s holiday: Many in the US ‘way back when were thrilled when MLK was shot, because they thought his assassination was justified. I was around and old enough to have witnessed that personally. Was it? I would say no… YMMV.
Tyrant? All depends whether he is your tyrant or mine. Now, if you are stupid enough to think this is some kind of blanket Trump endorsement – your TDS is showing (as well as your lack of reading comprehension
So says the self-described ANTIFA medic (and domestic terrorist)
And since
governmentsdemocrats often refuse to hold themselves accountable, sometimes assassinations feel like justice.I corrected it for accuracy, but it’s still wrong.
Lars, seek help. You’re not well. This is deranged behavior even by your standards. You’d have a shit hemorrhage if anyone else here said anything remotely like your post.
Well, since your politics are corrupt, do you qualify?
I’m more along the lines of 4th Gen Warfare (I think I have the numbering correct).
And I’m trying to remember my source. Was it “Absolved” (still wish we had the full book)/Vandeboegh? Or “Unintended Consequences”?
Don’t shoot the leaders. You just make a martyr and someone else steps into the fallen one’s place.
Instead shoot (preferably disable) the captains, lieutenants and body guards of the leaders.
The leaders will give the orders, but who will be brave enough to carry them out, knowing that to do so signs their death warrant? Who will guard the leaders, knowing that the leader is not the target, but they the body guards are the one targeted.
Make the leaders into impotent loudmouths.
