Update
Armed Suspects Shot During Alleged Garage Robbery

Two armed suspects are facing a long list of felony charges after police say they were shot by a homeowner during an apparent attempted robbery in Summerlin this week.

According to News 3 Las Vegas, the shooting happened Tuesday in the 800 block of Haven Oaks Place in Summerlin West. Police say the homeowner encountered two men who were allegedly attempting to rob him as they approached inside his garage.

Jail records identify the suspects as Connor Davis and Arqua Jenkins, both 29. Investigators say both men were armed at the time of the incident.

Following the shooting, Davis and Jenkins were arrested and booked on multiple serious charges, including attempted robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary while in possession of a gun or deadly weapon, and assault with a deadly weapon.

As of Wednesday, court records showed both suspects were still hospitalized from their injuries. Because of that, it remains unclear when either will make an in-person court appearance.

Police have not released the name of the homeowner, and authorities have not announced any charges against him at this time.

May they suffer long from their injuries.
Pain is, sometimes, the best instructor. “Don’t do that!”

Seems that the good guy is unharmed, so in that case I’d call it a good positive score.

Isn’t that the piece Alec Baldwin couldn’t use safely?

Yes, it is an Italian clone of a Colt Single Action Army. A number of Italian gunmakers began making them in the 1980’s and thereafter. They are mostly very correct copies of the originals, but sold at much lower prices than those made by Colt. They have no safety mechanism other than a notch that engages the trigger when the hammer is pulled back about an eighth of an inch. Baldwin either pulled the trigger after he fully cocked the hammer, or he was holding the trigger back and released the hammer at full cock. In either situation, the pistol will fire if a loaded chamber is aligned with the barrel. Baldwin is an arrogant prick who couldn’t be bothered to learn how to safely operate these pistols.

I should add that the imported clones have a further safety device as a condition of their importation. They have an extended cylinder base pin which can be locked in place in the frame. The aft end of it will protrude into the frame far enough to block the hammer firing pin from striking a loaded cartridge. But one rarely ever uses this feature. Anyway, no one I have ever observed uses it. In CAS, we only load five rounds and put the hammer down on the empty chamber. Then one can safely handle and holster his pistols.
