Therapist describes Trump Derangement Symptom as real pathology – Received hostile messages
Jonathan Alpert, a psychotherapist based in Manhattan, participated in an interview where he talked about an opinion piece that he wrote. He described Trump Derangement Symptom (TDS) as being real. Alpert said that approximately three-quarters of his patients displayed this characteristic, and that it went beyond politics. These patients viewed President Trump with obsession, rage and dread. Alpert’s patients displaying TDS were obsessed with President Trump to the point that it affected their sleep and wellbeing. Despite describing TDS as “pathology”, Alpert emphasized that he was not labeling this as a diagnosis. Many took issues with Alpert’s observation.

Jonathan Alpert, author of the forthcoming book “Therapy Nation,” said he faced backlash after appearing on Fox News last week to discuss his Nov. 12 Wall Street Journal op-ed about “patients across the political spectrum” who bring up President Donald Trump in therapy sessions “not to discuss policy but to process obsession, rage and dread.”
Alpert shared with Fox News Digital several messages he said he received via text and email over the past week.
“Eat s— and die you racist fascist piece of s—… f—ing uneducated MAGA scumbag,” one message read.
“Pedophile protector,” another said.
“You’re a lowlife, worthless fraudulent piece of s— pedophile who decent people hope is slaughtered, and the video is posted to YouTube,” a third message read.
“It’s been intense,” Alpert reacted to the messages, in an interview with Fox News Digital. “I expected disagreement, but I didn’t expect the level of hostility, especially from people in the mental health field.”
“What has stood out is the contradiction,” he added. “Many of the people who speak the most about empathy, tolerance and inclusion reacted with the least of it. That reversal tells us something about how emotionally charged politics has become.”
During a segment on “The Faulkner Focus” on Nov. 14, Alpert said “Trump derangement syndrome” is not just a political insult but a real psychological pattern he has observed in his practice.
“This is a profound pathology, and I would even go so far as to call it the defining pathology of our time,” he said on-air. “People are obsessed with Trump. They’re hyper-fixated on him. They can’t sleep, they feel restless, they feel traumatized by Mr. Trump.”

I’m not surprised in the least after seeing the massive character assassination by the dems and their pet media. It’s been nonstop vitriol since the 2016 election cycle.
That kind of propaganda effort has to have some kind of effect on a population that is no longer taught to think critically from high school on.
The worst part of this is so damn few see the situation for what it is and like the poor shrink found out, it’s dangerous to point it out. Today, far too many see it as “normal”.

So the comments from his findings prove his findings correct. Hmm, very interesting indeed. When I’m at the gym around 6-ish or 7-ish PM, I notice on the bank of TV’s that CNN, MSDNC, and others always have some sort of Trump news on the scrolling chyron. Never fails. They obsess on the man 24/7/365. Fires, floods, or wars in distant lands will always come a distant second to Trump to even if its Trump just playing golf. I never listen to the drivel as I got my ear buds playing my Tool/Deftones channel at max volume.
