Tuesday Tidbits

Let’s lead off with an attention-grabbing headline about Donald Trump and Ghislaine Maxwell. A former Epstein Girl has dropped a very specific allegation about Donald Trump:
Anouska De Georgiou was a friend of the late Virginia Giuffre. It’s alleged that Virginia was trafficked by late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. According to Anouska, another victim of Jeffrey’s tracking, that was the intention for his close friend and partner, Ghislaine Maxwell when she introduced her to Donald Trump.
In an interview with BBC Newsnight, Anouska says she was introduced to Donald with the “clear message of my being with him.” She adds that her introduction to him was for the “same way she (Ghislaine) had trafficked.”
Regarding how Donald behaved, she says he had no “impropriety with me.” Reality Tea
All the hoopla, all the hysterics – and it keeps on being a nothing-burger. You would think by now they would give up on trying to shame Trump on this – as we say around here, that dog won’t hunt.

And we have the dollar coin hoopla. Several folks have floated a whatever-you-call-it commemorative bicentennial-and-a-half dollar coin with images of President Trump on both sides. One draft is shown above. The prevailing sentiment with the sycophants seems to be having Trump’s image on both sides of the coin, a break with long-standing tradition. Some opponents cite US Code which dictates what shall be on each side of a coin (which that design violates) and that a coin shall not be issued with the image of a living President.
Regulations also state there must be a two-year period after the death of a former or current president before issuing currency with their likeness. CBS
However, if this is classed a commemorative and not a general circulation coin, many of these restrictions become don’t necessarily apply – and Congress passed a bill submitted by Barbara Lee (D, CA) in 2021 under President Biden HR1923 for a commemorative semiquincentennial dollar coin. (You knew I’d have to get it in there somehow, eh?)

Moving to the media – MSNBC has officially changed their name. MS NOW is the new moniker.
MSNBC, which stands for Microsoft and National Broadcasting Company, was launched in 1996 under a partnership with Microsoft and NBC, according to Reuters. Though Microsoft pulled out of the joint venture that owned MSNBC in 2012, the name was not changed, until now.
MS NOW stands for “My Source for News, Opinion, and the World,” according to a press release by the channel. USA Today
Like the gun control groups who have constantly changed their names thinking they can dupe the public about what they’re really all about, (“oh, no, it’s gun SAFETY”!) this change evokes another set of initials: SSDD. I’m gonna assume I don’t need to explain that one.

Last, Trump has reduced tariffs on beef, bananas, tomatoes, and coffee to reduce prices which rose with tariffs. So does this mean prices rose with tariffs like many predicted would happen?
President Trump has signed an order reducing tariffs on goods including beef, tomatoes, coffee and bananas, to lower costs on some everyday goods as consumers grapple with price struggles. Yahoo Finance
Or do tariffs actually work as a speedbump, disturbing markets and pricing that they actually slow the economy as one researcher claims?
But if the study’s finding are correct, Trump may eventually be able to point to better inflation numbers, assuming he can stomach a weaker economy and labor market.
In a working paper published on Thursday, San Francisco Fed researchers Régis Barnichon and Aayush Singh said higher tariffs lead to reduced economic activity, higher unemployment and lower inflation in the short term. Fortune
Not sure anyone knows. Like the man said, no matter how gilt-edged and revered an economist is, you can easily find another to call him a diamond studded liar.
Regardless, remember how the massive tariff income was supposed to reduce the national debt?
Trump has also in recent days floated the possibility of a tariff “dividend” for many Americans in the form of a $2,000 check. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox News on Sunday that that plan would need congressional approval, saying “working families” would be the target for the rebates. Yahoo Finance
I can’t decide whether “bait and switch” or “buying votes” fits better?

Tarrifs OR income tax
The USA did rather well on just tarrifs. We built a world class navy without income tax.
In 1964, the Kennedy half dollar came out replacing the Benjamin Franklin half. That was not a 2-year waiting period.
Had to pass a special law authorizing it. Biggest issue then was that the preceding half was less than 25 years old. Tbh I am not sure whether the 2 year standard was law then? But it is now.
Meanwhile, they put Joe Biden on the peso to honor all the illegals, sombrero and all. Schumer and Jeffries are jealous….
I can’t wait for the flood of damning flood of info about Dems to come when they open the Epstein gates. That they are doing so at the insistence of Dems (who curiously had no interest for four years) is the cake. That Trump will survive unscathed and this all proves to be him engineering it to incite the Dem fervor is the icing on said cake. Bill C going down in flames is a side benefit.
If there any Rs in the files, they’re collateral damage which must be flushed.
Then go after the beneficiaries of the congressional sexual harassment slush fund.
I don’t understand why this concept is so difficult?
Epstein kept up with all of his associates such as Prince Andrew and Larry Summers with Email. Trump did and does this as well.
There are NO emails between Trump and Epstein.
They simply didn’t communicate.
No communication means no relationship.
You can’t have a relationship without any communication.
As Charlie Kirk would have said; change my mind.
Trump had to cut import tariffs on beef. Not because he wanted to increase exports but because he wants to increase imports and lower prices. We currently have record high exports and tariffs didn’t mean a thing to our exports, net beef exports increased when tariffs were imposed. On our current path we are looking $10/lb for ground beef by Spring. Part of the reason that tariffs are almost meaningless is because many “US” meat processors are now foreign owned.
Cutting tariffs won’t work. The international demand for US beef is through the roof and droughts on the plains have driven supply down. The war in the Ukraine created a huge price increase in beef as well due to the cost of grain rising so much. We have in short, a very volatile market.
Trump famously doesn’t use email or texts:
https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-claims-he-hasnt-sent-texts-emails-over-decade-1705430
And I’m not saying that this somehow suggests that of course Trump and Epstein were attached at the hip, just that the absence of emails is a) understandable, and b) not synonymous with ‘no relationship’. Many people, believe it or not, prefer meeting in person or talking on a phone.
That makes the case much stronger.
I get texts from Trump every day. He is very upset with me because I haven’t sent him any money and tells me so. He also has a lot to say about things which he doesn’t like.
The list is extensive.
I was Watching black N white films of Herr Joseph Goebbels giving those speeches in front of his peeps and you couldn’t tell the difference between those peeps and the ones today who watch the alphabet news station on TV. I can’t wait until I get into talking with one of my liberal neighbors and tell her/him, the Holocast is a myth, no such thing and I would say that if I said it, you wouldn’t believe me but if you heard it on cnn/msnbc and the others, you would believe it just like those peeps listening to Herr Goebbels back in the day. Got the idea for my comment when I saw the above cartoon with the Mom and Daughter…
