Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal

Have things gotten so safe out there, that there’s no FGS in today’s FGS?
We’re all missing KoB Gun Bunny, that digger of (tall) tales and news. Hope he’s doing well and chasing Ms Thang tail (but carrying a bucket of sand for a handicap).

I’ve been horribly negligent in my duties. I need to try digging up some regional FGS to submit, but I generally don’t check the news. Guess I’ll try to set aside a few minutes. We have plenty of FGS down this way.
Picking up “additional duties as required” ain’t easy. Don’t beat yerself up over it. Just let us know that yer tryin’, we’ll cut you some slack.
We may give you a hard time, but we won’t give you A Hard Time.
Still worried about Gun Bunny……
Anyone out there live close enough to meander on over to give an eyeball QSO on his North Wall?

I think of the Smith & Wesson 39-and-59-Series semi-autos pretty much the same as I do the Ruger P-Series. Both have a recognizable profile and are heavy, all-metal DA/SA pistols that hearken back to 1980s ideals. I look at them and realize that, while they were each successful to a degree, neither S&W nor Ruger found that timeless aesthetic that Beretta has with the M92, or the simple workhorse design that Glock finalized in 1982.
S&W semi-autos had a promising start, though. I think it was the Illinois State Police that became the first major LE agency to adopt a 9mm semi-auto pistol with the Model 39, and the Navy adopted it for limited use during Vietnam.
Now, we live in an era where nearly every new design is either a M1911 clone/”improvement” or a plastic abomination, and where somehow the term “Glock killer” is a compliment. My only S&W pistol is a Shield EZ 30 Super (I have the Model 29 as well, and really want to get another Model 19), and my Caniks (TP9SA and TP9SFx) have been labeled by the term above–basically any striker-fired Glock-esque pistol with a lower price tag than the Austrian/Smyrna, GA pistols is going to be touted as the gun that will take down Glock. Haven’t seen it yet.
Just picked up a S&W Equalizer and put an Rcms (I think that’s right) optic on it. Nice CCW and quite accurate.
I’ve got an older M&P 9 that still shoots as straight as it did the day I bought it. Really nice leather holster for it from as Gun Show in San Antonio years ago.

I got the 45 cal version of that pistol in the mid 90’s. Two of them actually. I got the second thinking that the first couldn’t really be an example of how badly the sights were regulated on that model.
When I took it to the range it shot 6″ low at 5 yards with GI ball ammo. At 25 yards you had to aim above the silhouette to hit center of the target. (full size silhouette target.). Up until then I had been a die hard S&W fan. I never bought another semi auto from them since. Just revolvers. I have had several Glocks, used Colt 1911’s and Springfield Armory pistols as well as one Sig, also a disappointment.

Any news? Hoping for his steady recovery.

Mebbe you need to have your Mark 1 Mod 0 eyeballs optics recalibrated
