Michigan Man Free After Shooting Ruled Self-Defense

By Mark Chesnut
When Christopher Peterson of Inkster, Michigan, had to pull his firearm and shoot his mother’s ex-boyfriend on July 3, he likely had no idea he’d be charged with second-degree murder and have a court fight on his hands.

Thankfully for Peterson, two months after the incident, a district court judge ruled the shooting to be self-defense and dropped the charges against him.

According to police reports, Peterson, 24, was at his home late one evening and got into an argument with 49-year-old Dante Carey, his mother’s ex-boyfriend. The argument escalated to threats, and Peterson pulled his gun and shot Carey several times. Peterson had a license to carry the firearm.

Carey later died from his wounds, and Peterson was charged with both second-degree murder and using a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was later released on a $250,000 bond.

According to Robert Burton-Harris, Peterson’s attorney, Carey had a “lengthy history” of domestic violence against Peterson’s mother and at the time he was killed was on a tether for an unrelated assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and felonious assault. Still, Peterson was treated like a murderer and was set to go on trial earlier this month on the stiff charges.

But on September 4, Judge Brian Oakley of Romulus’s 34th District Court dismissed the murder charge and the charge of using a firearm during the commission of a felony after hearing some of the evidence in the case during the preliminary examination and determining Peterson shot Carey in self-defense.

Secret Service uniformed officer accidentally shoots himself while on duty
Officer sustains non-life-threatening injuries

By Greg Wehner
A U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Uniformed Division officer was injured in Washington, D.C., Saturday night after accidentally shooting himself.

The USSS told Fox News Digital that the “negligent discharge” occurred near 32nd and Fessenden streets in the northwest section of the city just before 8 p.m.

The agent, who was on duty, was handling his service weapon when the firearm discharged.

The USSS said the agent’s injuries were not life-threatening, adding that he was taken to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Lt. Paul Mayhair, a public information officer with the USSS Uniformed Division, added that there were no reported injuries to any other individuals.

Guns don’t go off unless you pull the trigger. years ago, one of our Brink’s employees was always twirling his S&W Mod. 10, .38 and putting it into his holster and one night while he was in the vault, he twirled the gun and must have pulled the trigger and the round went right through one of the vault workers and stuck in the cabinet behind him. Guy was rushed to the hospital in the financial district and recovered. Few years later, he and a couple of vault men got hired by NYC Sanitation. Shooter was fired. Another worker had an A/D when he was leaving Woolworths on 34th st. and 7th ave shooting himself in the foot. He goes to the nurses office to get it treated and do a coverup but was fired from Brinks and the nurse fired from Woolworths after a store employee blew the whistle.

I’m Back, Was awaiting a call back from AT&T on a scam email from AT&T telling me to update which the AT&T Rep said it was a scam/fishing. I spelled Phishing fishing because I didn’t take the bait. Later Alligator.

You gotta be careful. I’ve been getting emails from super scary people who need me to send $1950 in Bitcoin, lest they release some videos of me having fun “Dancing with Myself”. Seems they hacked into my phone and caught me looking at some highly arousing content. Naturally, I’ve sent each of them the requested amount, so my family and friends don’t have to endure watching me in moments of weakness.

The funny thing is, all of the letters are the exact same, so maybe I shouldn’t have spent $12k of my sextortion fund. Damn it… I needed that for a future trip to New Orleans.

Seriously, though, the letter is hilarious in how over the top it is. I can see where some people might get scared and pay the scammers, but I have a few secret weapons:

  • I don’t really communicate with family or friends, so sending photos of me is a non-issue.
  • I spent 21 years in the Infantry; if there are any compromising photos of me out there (there aren’t), I fully embrace them, even if it means my adult kids were subjected to them. If any scammer sent photos to my younger kids, they’d be facing more serious crimes than fraud and such.
  • When I visit adult sites, you can bet it’s to see what fit 30-40-ish biological women like Cory Chase or Sophia Locke look like. I’m not going online trying to find Lia Thomas and Caitlyn Jenner scissoring.
  • I’m a complete Luddite when it comes to any sort of digital currency. I’ve used Cash App in the past, and had a PayPal account 20 years ago, but Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and anything similar are far above my proficiency level.
  • The scammers are probably closet gays who fantasize about me pulling my best Clarence Carter impression while “Strokin'”. Little do they know that if I were tempted to pay them, I’d figure out a way to deposit some DNA on their hard-earned payout.

Detriot area– clearly the local authorities in Inkster, Mi, feel self-defense is or should be a crime.

One hopes that Michigan state law provides a means for expunging felony arrests that are later dismissed.

Going to have a hard time finding employment, renting an apartment, etc, with a murder charge on your background check.

But as they say, you may beat the rap but you won’t beat the ride. The process is part of the punishment.
