Flipflop Tuesday

| September 10, 2024

No, not wearing them (although if you feel like it, hey, no one judges (Hmph, snerk) here). Tuesday we look at how integral Harris has been to the White House….yet somehow had nothing to do with the botched Afghan withdrawal.

Of course, like anything gone wrong, Dems gotta Dem and blame the preceding administration.

First, see a letter from multiple retired military types condemning Trump:

“Without involving the Afghan government, he and his Administration negotiated a deal with the Taliban that freed 5,000 Taliban fighters and allowed them to return to the battlefield,” the letter claimed.

“Then, he left President Biden and Vice President Harris with no plans to execute a withdrawal, and with little time to do so.   CNN

By the time Biden took office the troop levels in Afghanistan were already below 3,000 troops. Trump’s negotiated withdrawal date was May 1 – Biden extended it. Not that he worried about angering the Taliban, they had already been breaking all treaty terms since 202.

April 14 — Saying it is “time to end the forever war,” Biden announces that all troops will be removed from Afghanistan by Sept. 11.

July 6 — The U.S. military confirms it has pulled out of Bagram Airfield, its largest airfield in the Afghanistan, as the final withdrawal nears. CNN

That last was a key point of stupidity. During the final withdrawal in August, a suicide bomber kills over 180 (13 Americans, the rest Afghans.) Almost  SEVEN MONTHS after Trump left office, it was his fault. (Please contrast with 9\11/01, when in almost exactly the same amount of time after taking office, Democrats blamed Republicans and George Bush as solely responsible for 9/11 – not Obama.)

No plan? In six months the military could draw up plans for ANYTHING, and Lord knows we don’t draw down to less than 300 troops after 21 years without an extremely detailed OPLAN in place. No plan? Really?

Harris is not to blame, they say. She really had nothing to do with it, they say. Can’t blame Kamala, they say. Except:

Vice President Kamala Harris confirmed Sunday that she was the last person in the room before President Joe Biden made the decision to pull all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan.  Politico

“I think it’s very important to remember that this has been the Biden-Harris agenda. Kamala Harris has been an integral architect and executor of the policies of the Biden-Harris administration,” Rice said.

“But this notion that she somehow doesn’t deserve credit for and isn’t part of and wasn’t an integral architect of the Biden-Harris administration agenda is not only false, it’s frankly somewhat bizarre and offensive,” Rice said. MSN

Yes, that last was from former White House adviser Susan “Benghazi” Rice. Only thing that throws me on this is that she ALWAYS lies, so it is rather disconcerting to hear her telling the truth.

It wouldn’t have been possible to blame Obama for 9/11 since he wasn’t elected President until 2008.
I think you meant Clinton.

I thought that it was President Trump that was to blame for 9/11, the start of WW1 & WW2 and the fall of the Roman Empire not umpire. Baseball wasn’t around then. Dimes to donuts, any NON TAH peeps who are uneducated low information voters read my comment, will believe it. I took the Joseph Goebbels course on BullShit.

MIRanger

I did not realize the Taliban had been around that long… 202 huh. Is that BC or AD?

Yeah, she had nothing to do with the plan, she was just the last person in the room and turned the lights out as Joe was already asleep.

MIRanger

I would add, just because I work with the guys that put it together. We had a very detailed plan for the withdrawal from Afghanistan, with very specific criteria that had to be met in order for it to be initiated. We had met only two of those thirty criteria. It was basically thrown out, and we scrambled to throw together something on such a short timeline that had nothing to do with the previous plan!

Odie

Whose idea was it to leave armament, aircraft and equipment behind? I’m fairly certain it wasn’t the guys you worked with.

Politics. Somebody else’s good plan is unnceptable. It must be one’s own plan, no matter how bad.

OAM

This needs to be repeated loudly and often. There were 30 criteria, only 2 had been met.

And why would that be? Maybe it had something to do with the fact the Taliban knew a different administration was coming in and this new crew had no desire to, even if they did know to hold them to the terms.

This enemy views politics and international relations through a 1,000 year lens while ours is 4 years at best. I say 4 because in an administration’s first term, to get another 4, they have to compromise and not make too many waves. The thinking is, we’ll do the really big stuff in round 2. Which will promptly be undone by the next administration. At least that’s how it’s been working when dealing with international terrorism and its sponsors and ilk for the past several decades. Our enemies understand this better than Americans, and this has been and will be our downfall.

Just imagine, if regardless of who occupies the big seat, the concept of patriotism, taking care of our own, protecting our own, you know, that despicable concept of “nationalism” was adhered to like it has been elsewhere. Maybe if we require taking an oath and actually honoring that oath …

Every time I hear someone say “nationalism” is a bad thing, I stop listening to pretty much anything else they say. Without “nationalism”, no nation can exist. The purpose of a national government is to uphold, support, protect and celebrate that which makes a nation – the people, ideals and interests of that nation.

Tell me how this is bad. Not, “well, taken to an extreme…”. No. Tell me how this concept is inherently bad. Can’t? Then sit down, be quiet, and let the grownups do what they do so you can continue to exist in your infantile, willful, naivete.

Nailed it, Mi’Lady!

Exactly. “You have the watches, but we have the time” as the Taliban said.

A nation that does not support its own interests will soon not be a nation and will probably be undone by nations that do.

Yes, that is why the terrorist Islamists like to say, “you have the watches, but we have the time.”

Because FJB had a snit, and must be indulged.

I think even with muted mics, her cackle will still be picked up. Will she bring her support man to ease her fears? The media is going to have a tough time asking Trump gotcha questions knowing it could backfire on their selected candidate.

I expect Trump to trounce her, and the media to spin it that Trump disrespects women.

I’m voting for the felon.

Odie

Part of the Chinese alphabet.

Interviewer: Afghanistan. Were you the last person in the room?
Harris: Yes.
Interviewer: Were you comfortable with that?
Harris: Yes.

Camela was already to take the credit for the withdrawal until it literally BLEW UP in her face. 13 heroes died, and Harris has NEVER, EVER communicated anything to the Gold Star families except have her campaign attack them at ANC. Tonight she’ll be exposed, and Trump will put this country back on the right path going forward.

SFC D

It’s my understanding that she’s quite fond of things blowing up in her face.

UpNorth

With that, you’re certainly in the running for comment of the year, at least..

I’m sure that y’all are seeing the same campaign ads from this skrunt that I am…and getting just as disgusted with the whole fiasco. Bitch talking about everything she’s gonna do to “fix” all the problems that have come along over the last 3 + years…that are all Trump’s fault. Well, yeah it is his fault. He didn’t manage to get re-elected because his administration was hamstrung by all of the deep state operatives and boo-row-craps along with his own “party”.

No matter which way the (s)election goes (and yes, I’m voting for The Bad Orange Man) We, The People had best do everything we can do to…Prepare.

Dan Bongino says that most republicans are democrats but all democrats are not republicans. Now we see democrats getting out of the party and going republican or indy. It’s bad when now former democrat and lawyer Allan Dershowititz goes indy.

Hope y’all got ammo, gold and canned goods. (Water, booze and cigarettes, too, could be helpful.)

So we’re still blaming Trump for a plan that Biden didn’t follow. Makes perfect sense. And if the Biden-Harris administration is going to tout her as an equal partner in whatever success they claim, then she gets to share the blame in every single clusterfuck the joint administration has produced. Equality AND equity, all in one big messy moneyshot.
