KOAT
Mighty fine in-depth reporting right there. In other news I happened into a Circle K gas station just today and went in to wash my hands after filling up. No soap available and I didn’t touch the faucet. Won’t be back.
Police: Gaylord stabbing death came in self-defense, no charges filed

GAYLORD — A dispute between two men that led to a fatal stabbing on Aug. 17 has been ruled a justifiable homicide citing self defense, according to Gaylord Police Chief Frank Claeys.
Claeys said Shemar Myrie, 33, and Kiran Smith, 35, were one-time friends working at SunFrog Solutions, a Gaylord t-shirt company.
“Mr. Myrie shoved Mr. Smith after exchanging words. Mr. Smith then returned to his work station. Mr. Myrie then obtained a knife that he had brought to work and went out to confront Mr. Smith at his work station. Mr. Smith saw him coming with the knife. They made eye contact as Mr. Myrie was sprinting after Mr. Smith who ran from his work station. While running, Mr. Smith saw a supply cart and grabbed a basket with scissors which he used to defend himself,” said Claeys.
When Smith got ahold of the scissors, Claeys said Myrie was slashing at him with the knife.
“Then a 12 to 14 second fight ensued between the two. While stabbing and slashing at each other at one point, Mr. Smith landed a fatal blow to Mr. Myrie,” Claeys said.

Contrast the Glock 42 with the Colt Mustang Pocketlite. -Those- mini-1911s are cool little .380s.
Here ya go: Glock G42 vs Colt Mustang vs Beretta 80X Cheetah size comparison | Handgun Hero. The Mustang is remarkably smaller and lighter in most categories than the G42.
My latest addition–the Beretta 80X Cheetah–is larger and heavier than either, but it has a very good feel in the hands. I swapped the mag release around as soon as I got it and loaded the mags while still at work. Just to see what’s up with NICS, I bought a Winchester Wildcat yesterday as well. Monday saw me get a Delay on the Cheetah, with a Proceed coming through yesterday morning, so after I certified the 4473, I grabbed our basic gray Wildcat from the display and started another 4473, getting a near-instant Proceed on it. This week, we get 25% off all Beretta, Benelli, Winchester, Tikka, and one or two other brands, as well as 50% off Swarovski, Leupold, and Vortex optics, so the Cheetah cost under $500 out the door and the Wildcat was $175 or so. Last week was 50% off Yeti, Keen, Carhartt, and a few other brands. I got my daughter a nice pair of Keen boots for her welding class; now I just need to drop another few hundred for everything else she needs for that class. Fortunately, I have her covered when it comes to tools for her carpentry class.
“My latest addition–the Beretta 80X Cheetah…bought a Winchester Wildcat yesterday…gray Wildcat from the display…” There you are…gloating…AGAIN! I’m surprised that there is any salt left in Lousy-Anna since you’ve been using so much of it to rub into our wounds. 😀 While you are suffering from sins one (1) and six (6), we are suffering from sins two (2) and seven (7). Repent, you Heathen!
I shouldn’t gloat too much. I almost always forget to bring something fun when I open, and our range closes at 1800, so every week I’m cursed with either bringing in whatever is in the vehicle or just heading home for a nap. I used to be more comfortable shooting in the backyard, but they’ve built up so much around me that it’s a rare occasion these days, and usually involves just shooting into the MODAD drainage ditch.
I do at least have a huge pile of logs to set ablaze this weekend (hoping for some mildly wet weather), a pool that needs cleaning, and some Coors Light to offset the Evan Williams.
Such a difficult life….
The deceased knew he should’na made that left toin at Albuquerque.
Now he’ll never be able to go to the Pismo Beach clam festival.
Scissors wins this round of rock-paper-scissors.
Yep…Mr. Myrie got froggy, finding himself between a rock and a hard place as Mr. Smith let the sunshine in. No tee shirt for him and the only paper he gets is a Death Certificate. Didn’t his mom tell him to not run at scissors?
How sketchy is a ‘hood where the gas stations need security? Does give us a twofer DRT so there is that.
Welp…we knew that the plasticized abominations would show up…eventually if not sooner. Rooster Cogburn…weeps.
Rock knife scissors…..
Mr Shemar Myrie got to be rocked to sleep.
