Man critically wounded in shootout with teens trying to rob him in Philadelphia: police
Officers say they are looking into whether this incident is tied to other recent robberies.

Bryanna Gallagher
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Two teenagers, who police believe attempted a robbery and shot a man on Saturday night, may also be connected to other crimes in Philadelphia, authorities say. What the teens didn’t expect was for the victim to fire back.

The shooting and attempted robbery happened at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday in the 1200 block of 41st Street in the city’s Wynnefield neighborhood.

Officers were called to the area for multiple reports of a shooting.

Police say at the scene, a 26-year-old man who had been shot walked up to responding officers to tell them what happened.

“He at least had the wherewithal, and presence of mind and the strength to explain to officers what occurred. Then we rushed him to the hospital,” Inspector D.F. Pace with Philadelphia police told Action News.

Authorities say they also found a 16-year-old at the scene suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim reportedly told authorities that two young men tried to rob him when the gunfire broke out.

Philthy-Delphia… The Chitty of Brotherly Love. *sigh* Bet those lads were surprised when their intended victim shot back.

BZ Homeowner! Good job on taking out the trash.

If Al said it, it must be true. After all, he read about the spotted zebras on the amazing inherwebz thingy that he invented.

Teasing me again there Kid Squid (ht2 Ol’ Poe). Knowing Imma looking at picking up that Ruger 10/22 that Home Boy has in inventory. Just happened to have noticed in an email he sent me that he also has a Wrangler in stock.

Escort duty FIRST (grin) thing this morning. Behave!

Buckingham Estates is a gated community with a guard tower protecting a community of McMansions… nice neighborhood, at least on the inside.

Too bad their security setup is necessary, worse that it did not function on Sunday morning.

That is why it pays to keep a couple of loaded guns handy when other security features fail. The life you save may be your own.

Amen. Ruger should also offer that Wrangler revolver in .38 Special, an excellent round for home security. Wouldn’t want to have to repair the drywall 🙂
