Fox rolls wrong tape, Left has coniption fits
In a control room SNAFU, during a segment of Fox News Channel’s “Happening Now”, the wrong tape was shown to the audience according to the Chicago Tribune;
Today, FOX News host Gregg Jarrett was talking about Republican Sarah Palin’s book tour and the crowd she is drawing at the start of it – no small turnout, with some 1,500 people lining up early this morning for a chance to get into this evening’s premier book-signing for Going Rogue in Grand Rapids.
“Sarah Palin continuing to draw huge crowds while she’s promoting her brand new book,” FOX’s Jarrett told his viewers. “Take a look at — these are some of the pictures just coming into us… The lines earlier had formed this morning.”
But it turns out that Happening Now had pulled some video of something that happened last year: Displaying video today from Palin’s campaign for the vice presidency, on the ticket with the GOP’s Sen. John McCain – which also drew considerable crowds, as shown today in video of a smiling Palin before an adoring campaign crowd.
Fox News has promised that it will discipline the people responsible, but that’s not enough for the Left.
Predictably, the moonbats have berserk. John Amato at Crooks and Liars and HuffPo has filed a complaint with the FCC;
FOX News is passing on “false information” to the public. This must end. They were busted by Jon Stewart of the Daily Show when Sean Hannity used the same technique to make it seem like a tea party rally was bigger than it actually was. And you know Hannity was told to apologize by “legal” over the “Hoax” he tried to get away with. Inadvertent footage doesn’t end up on a network show. That’s a bogus explanation. Oh, wait, that’s not the video of the Fox show – it’s REAL media malfeasance, the kind that doesn’t provoke a reaction from Think Progress, Crooks and Liars, Huffington Post or Media Matters.

Last week Fox “News” mixed summer pictures of a bigger tea party with pictures of a smaller autumn tea party, claiming they showed the huge turnout for the sad, Fox-choreographed little event. There were people in t-shirts and green leaves on the trees in what was supposed to be November. Doh! Now this. I guess it’s fine with you guys that Fox lies and portrays it as the truth as long as it’s your “truth”. Not for nothing that conservatives have been labeled as “not being reality-based”. I’d say that accurately describes you guys, and the rapture-ready bimbo you all worship.

Just as a tease, Joe, just for you, how about Rachel Madcow stating that Rep. Boehner was wrong, there is no preamble to the Constitution? How’s that for a “lies and portrays it as the truth as long as it’s your truth” moment? That’s just one item on a long and diverse menu. Go take a look, it may open your closed, rancid mind. Or, better yet, do a search for Olbermann.

I have one that pisses me off more. Back in 2007, right before the surge in Iraq. Most of the major news stations (but especially CNN) were showing “footage” from the war. That footage, supposedly current, was of Army troops running through the streets, engaging in major firefights wearing the Desert BDU (the tri-color). Big problem with that was, we had stopped wearing that uniform two years prior to that. The press wanted you to believe we were still engaging in large scale battles on the street. They do this shit all the time because they’re too lazy and think we won’t notice.
Sorry, but Fox cannot claim this as an accident. If so, they need to hire a new staff. They have had a ton of “accidents” lately. From posting republican representatives with a D after their name and vice versa, to switching the video on the Bachman rally, to this now. There is an obvious pattern to what they are trying to do. If you can’t see that then I would never want you as my FO.
And, yes I know the left does it too. Does that make it OK? Do you really want to change the name of the blog to “This Ain’t Hell, But We’re Just Like the Far Left”?

I’ll admit, Fox “News” (ha!) isn’t the only guilty party, just the shameless worst offender. A couple of years ago the DOD shills selling the war on most of the MSM, posing as independent experts, is one very egregious example. Got take it all with large grains of salt….

Here’s one link and a short excerpt from the well publicized “Pentagon Pundit Scandal”, a scandal that did not get nearly the attention it deserved. A total short-circuiting of the free press. And much of the MSM was guilty, not just Fox.

It was covert. As Barstow’s piece states, the 75 retired military officers who were recruited by Donald Rumsfeld and given talking points to deliver on Fox, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS and MSNBC were given extraordinary access to White House and Pentagon officials. However, “The access came with a condition. Participants were instructed not to quote their briefers directly or otherwise describe their contacts with the Pentagon.”
It was an attempt to mold opinion. According to the Pentagon’s own internal documents (which can be downloaded and viewed from the New York Times website), the military analysts were considered “message force multipliers” or “surrogates” who would deliver administration “themes and messages” to millions of Americans “in the form of their own opinions.” According to one participating military analyst, it was “psyops on steroids.”
It was done “through the undisclosed use of third parties.” In their television appearances, the military analysts did not disclose their ties to the White House, let alone that they were its surrogates. The military analysts were used as puppets for the Pentagon. In the words of Robert S. Bevelacqua, a retired Green Beret and for Fox News military analyst, “It was them saying, ‘We need to stick our hands up your back and move your mouth for you.”

Yeah, totally unbiased, middle of the road commentary.

Hey there Joe…howya doing there Sweetpea…thanks so much for stopping by and giving your insightful retrospective musings, but I already told ya that most of us have aready bought the entire Disney movie collection for our children and grandchildren….Why Hell, even TSO bought “The Little Mermaid” for Caroline…perhaps your time would be better spent helping the small children of third world countries get to know all of the wonderful movies in the Disney library and by doing so,you could personally bring World peace in our lifetime…now isn’t that just exciting??? Then you would be the MAN and more popular than Obama…how does that grab ya? Just think about it Joe…thanks and stuff…
