Support veterans on Veterans Day
Dear supporter
We are asking you to make a donation on veterans day to Iraq Veterans Against the War. Not much thought is given to the actual veterans who have been to war on veterans day but we must realize that they are a community that has been deeply scared by war. These scars can not always be seen but they are always there and IVAW is working to empower veterans and GIs to stand up to fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from within the military. So on veterans day please go to [our gay-ass website] and make a donation to a veterans group that is leading veterans!

Leading veterans? When? Where? It’s absolutely obscene that IVAW think they’re empowering veterans by undermining the wars “from within the military”. It’s even more obscene that Geoff Millard, the deserter and malingerer, uses a day set aside to honor veterans’ service to the nation to raise money for his inept band of pretenders. Millard couldn’t even bring his lame ass to use caps for Veterans Day in his fund raising letter.

Geoff? You’ll always be a thieving punk. Don’t propose to represent me, brau….
Make a donation, so we can drink some more, and loan some $ to Matthis.
SO, IVAW is “empowering” vets and G.I.’s to fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Would that be like Hasan did, IVAW? Seems like that’s what you’re saying.
Hey, Geoff–maybe if you sell that CIB and medals you didn’t earn to someone else who likes shiny shit, you can make a donation yourself.
Can’t they be arrested for sedition, or treason during time of war, or some such? Damn! They’re annoying, worse then mosquitoes. Both serve no purpose whatsoever on this God’s green Earth.
true that on the caps for Veterans Day-
matthis was blathering today he is direct quote from his hempstead-15 blog
“”It’s time to take care of your troops, America. We are mired in violence and gun lust, post traumatic stress and substance; outward anxiety and inward extremism. Maj. Nidal Hassan is one of us.””
no shit– matthis thinks hasan is same pg…?
looking for handouts or money going around matthis isnt the only person in the area chairing up to speak.

this is a video with a fake vet–alongside 4 real vets. u pik who~ oh but future congressmen kokesh collected the money on that event. but he doesnt pay taxes…noone does.
Actually, IVAW is sending a mental health counselor to Fort Hood to help soldiers who may not want to go through the military mental health system. We’re doing a lot of good things – nobody is using donations for drinking money.
B Woodman: If you believe in the flag and the Nation, then can I ask why you believe it is treasonous to dissent? We come from a group of men who believed it was one of the most important things in the world to be able to disagree with the government in safety.
Hey, I know that not everyone here is a big fan of my Iraq films, but you have to admit, damn, I’m a lot better at putting them together. That vid was terrible.
“Actually, IVAW is sending a mental health counselor to Fort Hood to help soldiers who may not want to go through the military mental health system.”
Yeah, then why didn’t they put that in the letter? And providing alternate choices to free military services has worked so well at Fort Hood. *cough*Branum*cough*
True, they should have published that. But also, the track record isn’t great for referrals lately. If it is going well, then why is no one talking?
They should just go strait to Chuck Luther.
Jonn:
Thanks for the Branum opening- Can we get up his retainer money and have him represent Hasan the Muslim Murderer? Seems like poetic justice here.
“Never Forget Ft. Hood Texas 110/5/09!”
“Actually, IVAW is sending a mental health counselor to Fort Hood to help soldiers who may not want to go through the military mental health system.”
Jonn, I would like to go a step further.
AS, why it isn’t on the front page of IVAW.org?
This is, tho.
“The Warrior Writers Project brings together recent veterans and current service members to be in creative community and utilize art-making processes to express themselves. There is a deep necessity for veterans to create when so much has been shattered and stolen. A profound sense of hope comes from the ability to rebuild and transform. Our workshops and events utilize (but are not limited to) writing, drawing, photography, papermaking and music. We also compile artwork into books, performances and exhibits so civilians can begin to better understand veterans’ experiences.”
Send money to the Fort Hood area for Macaroni, Elmer’s Glue and Glitter.
Disgusting.
This surprises me about as much as the sun coming up tomorrow.
I honestly don’t know where this letter you have came from, Jonn. However, other active duty IVAW members and their supporters raised money to send a respected counselor to Fort Hood, and that counselor is there right now helping soldiers. You’re right, it’s not on the front page. I need to post about it as well, and for that I apologize. I take full responsibility for that not being promoted well enough. I’m not going to make excuses for why I haven’t gotten to it.
The other thing is, I know you may not believe Warrior Writers is effective, but I think it’s a little bit much to dismiss it as “glitter and glue”. You may not be aware, but the Army has a lot of “glitter and glue” programs too, and people are grateful for them. Paint by numbers kits, stencils, little things you scrape away with knives to make metal etchings, all sorts of stuff. It’s called “occupational therapy”. I did it, and it helped a bit. I’m not sure why. In addition, Cognitive Processing Therapy, one of the main treatments of PTSD, encourages you to write about your experiences again and again in whatever format you are able to do so.

Brown Neck Gaitor: Why do you encourage her?
Every time she starts talking on here or her blog it always starts off about a subject (like Ft Hood) & then it is a big story about HER & HER PTSD. It never fails.
I dunno Steve, she just rubbed me the wrong way one too many times trying to explain away members of IVAW’s actions.
It is mostly the same song & dance everytime……………
It makes me want to stick a fork in my eye.
