Weekend Open Thread
A kid took to TikTok and asked a question… Who let Generation X off the hook? He was talking about the trolling comments that the generations slung at each other. However, Generation X was not let off the hook. Gen X was initially mistaken as the opposing generation and “attacked” accordingly… Then people remembered that Gen X was a separate generation. Enjoy your weekend!

First!
You beat Hack by ten seconds.
Hack Stone will blame his loss on climate change and toxic patriarchy that permeates this website.
Don’t forget the Jews. If you are going to be a full blown liberal these days you have to make them responsible for everything too.
I thought that a LibTard had to blame everything wrong on PDJT
PDJT has jews in the family, so there’s that.
Israelis love him, and yet he is the next Hitler. Still figuring why Israelis would love a Nazi. I got nothing.
Works for muslims– evil Joos (and the Mossad) do everything bad in the Arab world. /sarc
Guess I’ll retain the key to The TAH:WOT Throne Room and Junta LARPers Training Facility.
Have a GREAT weekend y’all!
Damn, I’m slipping! Fourth this week! Congrats to another week on the throne! Perry White was talking to me and the WOT dropped and I missed it by THAT MUCH.
Second place by two seconds. I’ll just be picking up my sloppy seconds Trophy in The Ladies’ Room.
Well played, My Good Man. Have a Kong Rat for your FIRSTNESS! A TWOFER!
Late again because I’m traveling and trying to do OTHER PEOPLE’S TRAVEL!!! jebus….
Anyway, Happy and Hearty Fuck You All from Chimpy and GOOD JERB Roh-Dawg (My correct spelling of Air Force anything related to Dog from a “Port Dawg” Cargo and Personnel Aerial Port Hearding)
SO….
FIRST!
Not 1st, but close.
Missed by 3 seconds.
I missed by four seconds.
Commissioner Wretched,
That’s what I get for typing long, from scratch.
If I just typed “x” and sent,
or prepped a text to copy, then click a paste,
perhaps better than 3rd.
And, I could edit the x or the paste afterwards.
There,
I just gave everyone a new strategy for next Friday.
🙂
Credit to Commissioner Wretched,
Who already has long VG blog comments ready to go,
for after he pounces on 1st… or not.
First!
Oh wise and all knowing Magic Ball, please grant a well deserving Director of Media Relations for a proud but humble woman owned business that sells outdated and overpriced Red Hat Software to the Federal Government a break and bestow upon him the highly regarded and rarely awarded First Comment for This Ain’t Hell’s Weekend Open Thread. And in your never ending benevolence, please look kindly upon Phil Monkress as he juggles balls this weekend.
Well, darn. My latest attempt to be FIRST in the WOT fell flat because Perry White had my ear for a conversation about something or other and I was trying to get in here and listen to him at the same time. It’s more fun if I can blame missing FIRST on Lois Lane, but stuff happens.
With that said, now’s the time for me to reveal the answers to last week’s trivia challenge. Read on, friends … and enjoy.
DID YOU KNOW…?
Did American and German forces fight together during World War II?
By Commissioner Wretched

So how did you do?
Last week, of course, was the annual April Fool’s edition of the column, with three totally false items inserted to see if you’re really paying attention. The correct answers are:
1. George Bernard Shaw did not write a play called Closed for Remodeling. It’s a long-standing urban legend, one which never actually happened.
2. The vomitorium in a Roman place had nothing to do with upchucking or being drunk. In ancient Latin, the vomitorium was simply the entrance hall of an amphitheater.
3. Sugar in a child’s diet has no effect on whether they’re hyperactive or not. It does have an effect on their weight and overall health, but studies have shown there’s no impact from sugar on a child’s behavior.
I hope you were successful in seeking out the three phony balonies. Now, on to this week’s selection, all of which (as far as I can tell) are accurate!
Did you know …
… a lake in Australia is a bright pink? Lake Hillier, located on Middle Island in the Recherche Archipelago in Western Australia, is a bright pink in color, and scientists aren’t exactly sure why. Resembling nothing more than a huge collection of Pepto Bismol™, the lake’s unnatural hue is thought to possibly be caused by high salinity and certain kinds of algae and bacteria. And despite the color, the lake is perfectly safe to swim in. The salt content means you’d probably float rather easily, too. (Just what I’ve always wanted to do, float in Pepto Bismol.)
… the first electric traffic signal was installed in Cleveland, Ohio? Installed on August 5, 1914, the signal was placed at the corner of Euclid Avenue and East 105th Street. It was based on a design by James Hoge (1866-1926) under a patent called a “Municipal Traffic Control System.” (And the process of putting traffic cops out of work began.)
… a famous criminal was also a poet? Bonnie Parker (1910-1934), one half of the infamous bank robbery pair Bonnie and Clyde, also wrote a collection of poems called Poetry From Life’s Other Side. Parker wrote the book in 1932 while jailed. She also wrote a poem called “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” shortly before she and her partner, Clyde Barrow (1909-1934), were killed by law enforcement officers in an ambush in Louisiana on May 23, 1934.
… during World War II, American and German forces fought together? Once, anyway. On May 4, 1945, as the war in Europe was winding down, American forces were tasked with freeing high-ranking French prisoners of war from a castle in Austria. The castle was guarded by fanatical units of the SS and Gestapo, and the Americans were aided by German Wehrmact troops under the command of Major Josef Gangl (1910-1945). Meeting under a flag of truce, Gangl and the commander of a U.S. tank battalion, Captain John C. Lee (1918-1973), planned to attack the castle and free the prisoners. During the fight against the SS, Gangl was killed trying to help former French Prime Minister Paul Reynaud (1878-1966) out of the line of fire. More than 100 SS men were taken prisoner as the French captives were freed. Lee was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and the Silver Star for his efforts at the castle.
… the dollar sign is placed before numbers rather than after them for a reason? We say, “I owe you ten dollars,” but would write, “I owe you $10.00” The reason we put the dollar sign before the digits is to prevent forgery – it would be very easy to put more numbers in front if we wrote it, “I owe you 10.00$.” (Makes sense to me!)
… the British Parliament has an unusual procedure to follow whenever the monarch opens a session? Before King Charles III (born 1947) gives his traditional speech at the opening of Parliament, one member of the House of Commons is ceremonially held prisoner at Buckingham Palace. Once His Majesty has finished the speech and safely returned to the Palace, the “hostage” member is released. The tradition was started to ensure the safe return of a monarch from a potentially hostile Parliament. Lest you think this is silly, note that inside the monarch’s dressing room, a copy of the execution warrant for King Charles I (1600-1649) is posted. (Just so the king doesn’t get any funny ideas, I would imagine.)
Not often that the Brits do politics better than us.
We should have Aaron Burr’s bullet publicly displayed, front-and-center, at every single political debate. Along with Old Glory, the Gadsden Flag, the Stars & Bars, the Stainless Banner, the Blood-Stained Banner, the Second Confederate Navy Jack, the Conch Republic flag, the Whiskey Rebellion flag, both the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and a resolute constitutional lawyer armed with a loaded rifle and qualified immunity.
… a single red blood cell makes a full circuit of the human body in about one minute? The average human body has about one to one and a half gallons of blood, and the human heart pumps at a rate of about one to one and a half gallons per minute. Thus, one single corpuscle makes a complete circuit of the body in about a minute. (Not exactly breaking the sound barrier but pretty darned fast in any event.)
… about 65% of all adult Americans are overweight or obese? (I’ll let you figure out which percentage you’re a part of.)
… all GPS units sold to civilians have a threshold at which they deactivate? In order to prevent their being used on an intercontinental ballistic missile, GPS units sold to the general public are programmed to deactivate themselves if they travel faster than 1200 miles per hour or higher than 60,000 feet.
… credit card companies have a name for people who pay their bill off each month? You may have thought that it makes you popular with the company to do that, but it’s exactly the opposite – if you pay your bill in full each month, they call you a “deadbeat.” That’s because the company does not make any money from the interest rate they charge on the use of the card. (I have a name for the people who keep calling me about my balance, but since this is a family newspaper, I can’t say it.)
Now … you know!
Another fine j.o.b. on the trivia, CW. I always learn something from this post. This week I learned that 2 out of 3 ain’t bad and I’m a deadbeat. I keep telling myself to get one of them credit cards that pays bonus $s for using it. Haven’t carried a CC balance in many years. My CC is one that I’ve had with my Credit Union for nearly 50 years. Interest rate is only 7% on unpaid balances.
And you’re among friends here, you can admit that the charms of Lois Lane distracted you from the WOT.
I’ll be proud to wear a “Deplorable Deadbeat” T-shirt.
When I got a notice that my Shell gas card wants to charge me 34.6% on any unpaid balance at the end of a month, you betcha I’m gonna be a deadbeat.
Credit card companies will charge a business fees for customers using their card, they’ll charge usurious interest rates on any unpaid ballance, and then want to cry and complain when we don’t use their cards or pay off a balance due every month?
Behold my field of clucks…
The credit card payment bit directly affects Hack Stone. His credit card balance is paid in full each month despite the Vice President of the proud but humble woman owned business missing the last 1040 paydays, and his credit card score just dropped 5 points to 827 from last month. In a coincidence, Psul of The Ballsack’s credit score is the same as his weight, 329.
They must really hate me. I pay off the credit cards twice a month. I harvest the point bonuses, close the account and move on to the next one. But the credit score is really high.
People always hate you when you beat them at their own game.
I gracefully refrain from attempts to be 1st this week.
Amateur Historian,
My 1st real attempt to be 1st today.
Not 1st.
🙂
Happy Friday! Hope everyone had a good week. So I hit a bit of a snag with what I planned to do for the weekend open thread. As I mentioned before, I got hacked. They hacked my email and changed the password so I couldn’t get back in. Then, using the information in my email, they hacked my online bank account and did the same thing. Then they tried to wire all of my money out of my accounts. Luckily, my bank was on point and alerted me to what was going on. They canceled the wire transfers and, for the rest of this week, I’ve been going scorched earth on both my bank account and my email. As a result, I can’t post about what I planned to do today. I have too much on my plate. But I’ll be back to normal next week and, to at least share something, here is a clip of the Dr. Phil Show (he’s been in absolute beast mode lately). In this segment, he has a guest by the name of Mosab Yousef, son of one of the co-founders of Hamas, ex-Hamas militant, ex-Israeli informant, and former muslim. He provides some very crucial context here with the current Hamas war and I feel duty bound to share it. He also tears into some Pro-Hamas twit from the University of Michigan. Enjoy:
Everyone have a good weekend!
Saw this before. He is interesting to listen to and explain their way of thinking.
He wrote a book, “Son of Hamas”. I recommend it
Go scorched earth to char on the hackers’ asses.
I wish.
If you were truly Hacked, a team of crackheads wielding pliers and blowtorches would have shot your girlfriend in the face during the blizzard.

My phone I mean. It’s doing something weird.
After Gen X being called no-good slackers, unable to move up at work because Baby Boomers wouldn’t retire and expected to do all the high-tech sh*t Baby Boomers couldn’t figure out, getting crap from kids who didn’t play outside by themselves until college ain’t all that:
P.S.
That tracks.
So much wrong here. I think my favorite is the helpful shipmate bracing the Skipper against the brutal recoil of the 5.56mm rounds.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that he’s not actually firing that….someone picked up some spent brass off the deck and then they were like…..“Hey, Carl…throw some casings at the Skipper while I take a photo…” Ready….1……2……FIVE!!! ”
“First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.”

“Marines take Aim At Navy For Fumbled Firearm Photo On Social Media
https://www.stripes.com/branches/navy/2024-04-11/navy-backwards-scope-photo-13528758.html
“The Marine Corps schooled the Navy over social media Wednesday after the sea service uploaded a photo of an officer firing an improperly configured rifle. The Navy posted to its official Instagram account a now-deleted photo of Cmdr. Cameron Yaste, skipper of the guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain, holding a rifle and looking through a scope that was clearly mounted backward.”
“The weapon’s foregrip was also mounted strangely, positioned closer to the gun’s center than its barrel.”
“The Marine Corps appeared to take its own dig at the Navy, sharing a photo on its social media accounts of a Marine firing a weapon aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer. The caption read: “Clear Sight Picture.”
“Was Humiliating Navy Rifle Photo Actually Photoshopped?”
https://www.outkick.com/culture/navy-rifle-photo-photoshopped-speculation
I never thought that photoshopping was in doubt.
It’s one (very embarrassing) thing to accidentally mount a scope backwards. I’m sure we’ve all seen privates try to insert a magazine the wrong way (I’ve even seen a few somehow succeed). It’s an entirely different level of unbelievable to think he’s actually squeezing the trigger while looking through a closed lens cap.
I’d even guess the spent casings are photoshopped. The angle of ejection is off, especially given their relative sizes. The selector switch appears to be on auto/burst, but there’s no flash or visible steam/warping (while supposedly surrounded by cool maritime air) from the muzzle and the bolt carrier appears fully seated in the chamber. Sure, it may be possible that the shutter caught that exact moment where it all lined up that way. It’s almost impossibly unlikely.
At least they remembered to remove the blank adapter before the photo-op.
Brits picked up on that, too:

“Report: Veterans With Extremist Views Had Bad Experiences In Military”
https://www.militarytimes.com/flashpoints/extremism-disinformation/2024/04/09/report-veterans-with-extremist-views-had-bad-experiences-in-military/
“Most veterans recently interviewed by the RAND Corporation about their extreme political views told researchers they had negative and even traumatic experiences while serving in the U.S. military, ranging from combat trauma and sexual abuse to interpersonal conflicts that led to their discharge.”
“The findings, released in a report Tuesday, add to other evidence that suggests negative experiences in the military could be a risk factor for people becoming radicalized into extremist ideologies, according to Todd Helmus, a co-author on the report. Data compiled last year by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism revealed a pattern of failed military recruits who were later charged with extremist-driven plots and crimes.”
“A number of folks in our study had problematic experiences,” Helmus said. “We and other scholars have suggested before that those problematic experiences in the military could lead people to be vulnerable to these groups. So, we think that’s a significant finding.”

Some turds (many who wear stars)…:
…aren’t hung for treason.
So, RAND can’t win wars, will start them in any 3rd world with 5 dollars in natural resources, abuses the population by lies and graft, and turn their backs on malfeasances by the gentry, but, you know, “those guys are the problem”.
Tonedeaf asshole fuckfaces.

Who is Daniel J. Epstein?
Well he’s the founder of The ConAm Group.
And what do they do?
The usual ‘community building’ nonsense with a LOT of donations to politicos. (in sum, nothing… good)
I prefer my slumlords to be mom-n-pops, jus’sayin’.
Over half the people on GlassDoor wouldn’t recommend employment there, fyi.
Define “extreme political views “. I’m not gonna waste my time reading a self serving political piece of crap.
So, they were f*ck-ups who didn’t succeed in the military, so it’s the military’s fault they’re exremists… therefore (in progressive left/libtard logical) keep them in and give them participation trophies, no more extremism! Problem solved. /sarc
Historian Victor Davis Hanson, a Fox News contributor, wrote this very interesting opinionated article that is well worth the read. He nailed it.
“11 Ways Biden And His Handlers Are Hell-Bent On Destroying America”
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/11-ways-biden-handler-hell-bent-destroying-america
“Why are those controlling President Biden using him to advance so much of a destructive agenda that it will likely end America as we know it?”
“If someone wished to destroy America, could he do anything more catastrophic than what we currently see and hear each day?”
“What would an existential enemy do that we have not already done to ourselves?”
“Here are 11 now familiar steps to civilizational destruction:”
1. Wipe out a 2,000-mile border.
2. Run up $35 trillion in national debt.
3. Appease or subsidize enemies like Iran and China.
4. In a multiracial democracy, redefine identity only as one’s tribal affiliation.
5. Recalibrate violent crime as understandable, cry-of-the-heart expressions of social justice.
6. Emasculate the military by using non-meritocratic standards of race, gender, and sexual orientation to determine promotion and commendation.
7. Reinvent the justice system to indict, bankrupt, convict, jail and eliminate political opponents.
8. Encourage the fusion of the bureaucratic state with the electronic media to form a powerful force for political audit, surveillance, censorship and coercion.
9. Make war on affordable gasoline and natural gas.
10. Marry late, but preferably not at all.
11. Turn world-class universities into indoctrination centers.
Don’t forget how good the Air Force is. They don’t even need sights.
The only weapon I carried when I was in the USAF (outside of training) was the tried and true S&W .38 revolver. Simple point and click technology. Didn’t need a scope. ‘and when one only has six rounds, fire discipline was a given.
Obviously, this photo is a forgery… that “airman” isn’t wearing a reflective belt.

U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy unite for maritime rescue, emphasizing community ties in FSM

Missed it by 39 comments. Some I’m sure are conversations being carried on back and forth, so maybe high 20s, low 30s.
Still present tho so that should count.
This seems to be a fitting tribute to my elders here at TAH, given the opening statement of the WOT!
Talking about me and my siblings there.

Do I get a prize for being under 100 ???
Feeling lazy, so I’m just gonna post the link:

About halfway down the “page” just below the Hammer & Sickle, are a series of memes that totally BRUTALIZE OJ’s death.
A variation on the funeral hearse chase is an overhead shot with the funeral hearse being the white Ford Bronco. ROFLOL!
Well worth the time to find, read, and chuckle over.
You may see some of these again.
Seize away, Comrade.
In true Capitalist fashion, the memes were not mine, so I care not.
Present.
Received news that Grandchild #11 is gonna be another girl. Mom and baby fine. AB Son wondering if he can talk all four girls into eloping to save wedding costs.
Y’all have a blessed weekend.
Seems as if the Graybeard Clan took that Genesis Verse and Chapter on going forth, being fruitful, and multiplying very seriously, Huh. Good on y’all! Congratulations are assuredly in order….and with all them girls…a few more firearms.
You can bet your last cathead biscuit that they will all know firearm safety, sight picture, and trigger control if Grandpa has any say in it.
And they’ll know that a “warning shot” is when you get the first one in a headshot so his buddies are warned.
Tried that with my three. The one who had the biggest wedding (and sole divorce) is remarrying…and eloping.
Fi’ty-sump’n and I award myself another Honorary first once again.

*NEWS FLASH*
OJ Simpson is still dead.
Epstein did not kill himself.
The Fuckin’ Feebies are still monitoring people instead of doing what they’re supposed to, FUCK the Deep State.
I’d like to see Iran’s nuclear reflection from the Moon, in the morning.
May the WeatherChannel communists show satellite imagery of the heat wave radiating into space like a column of Climate Worship before little Greta has a hissy and the Sun absorbs the heat and melts Little Joe’s ice cream cone.
Prophecy will not be altered. Eventually, Israel will have an epiphany. It won’t be their finest moment but some serious stuff happens, afterwards.
I better not step into GrayBeard’s territory, too much. Better that you might read the book and avoid the videos.
No problems from me, brother.
On station.
I didn’t know whether to put this here or under stupid people of the week. Either way, it sucked to be him.
