Woman fatally stabs convicted sex offender who tried to attack her at Louisiana laundromat: authorities
The sheriff said the woman was ‘brave’ and showed ‘courage and strength’ for fighting back against her attacker

A twice-convicted sex offender was stabbed to death at a laundromat in Louisiana by a woman he was allegedly trying to assault, according to authorities.The incident happened around 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, March 3, after deputies were dispatched for a 911 call to a laundromat in the Lacombe-area.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Nicholas Tranchant, 40, was found unresponsive with a visible stab wound and taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Deputies stated that an investigation into the incident revealed that Tranchant, a known convicted sex offender, had entered the laundromat armed with a sharp weapon and was attempting to sexually assault the woman when she fought back.
Mr. Tranchant was released into the wild last December and was required to register as a sex offender. So there’s that.

ST. LOUIS – A violent altercation overnight at a south St. Louis QuikTrip ends with a security guard shooting and killing a suspect after police say the suspect shot the guard. It all happened about midnight at Gravois and Chippewa in the Dutchtown neighborhood.The store is back open after being closed for several hours overnight. Authorities rushed to the scene right about midnight. This Monday morning, St. Louis police told FOX 2 that there was some sort of disturbance inside the QT and the armed security guard was escorting the suspect out, who was apparently causing the trouble.
Police shared that at some point there was a struggle between the suspect and the guard. Investigators added that the suspect was able to grab the security guard’s gun and shoot him in the leg. After the guard was shot, police revealed that the struggle continued between the suspect and the security guard. We’re told the security guard was able to get his gun back and shoot the suspect in the head, killing him.
Police said that the security guard was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Good thing this occurred in a laundromat. I don’t know if it’s a fluke but I’m seeing more security guards shot lately. With police being in such short supply there seem to be more arm guards than I remember.
You can bet they are getting lousy pay and minimal, if any, benefits to include health/life insurance.
I wonder if they are allowed to “upgrade” from company issued weapon to weapon of their choice. Same question on ammo. I hear hollow points are less likely to be a through shot. See? Protecting innocent by standers from errant bullets.

Good luck with that. Seriously though, I used to have a “family tree” of rock bands that was part of the liner notes for “The Very Best of Rainbow” that tied together a whole shitload of bands. There were connections between Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath, among others. The only bands not in the list were insular bands like The Doors and Pink Floyd.
