Deputies: Teen killed man at Greenville Co. motel in self-defense

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said a teenager is charged after a self-defense shooting that killed a man on Wednesday night.

Deputies were called to the Travelers Inn on Chalmers Road around 9:17 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a man, 50-year-old John Parker, with at least one gunshot wound. Parker was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Deputies said they learned Parker had been in an altercation at the motel and held a 16-year-old boy at knifepoint. Acting in self-defense, the teen pulled a handgun and shot Parker resulting in his death, according to investigators.

The teenager was charged with having a stolen pistol and taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.

Ummm, yeah. No idea what transpired between an armed minor and a violent adult in a motel late in the evening. Nothing good, anyway.

Caution.

Thanks again, Gun Bunny.

We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

If the District Attorney in San Antonio allowed the cops to do their job like in Fort Worth, Garrett Foster would still be alive.

KoB

No indication of a hammer and/or tighty whiteys in the motel room either.

Video evidence as to why the seagull was missing for awhile last year?

That American precept is yet to be restored.

Yeah, let’s lead The Gun Bunny down that rabbit hole with a picture of a Cowboy Gun Reproduction. Well played, Good Sir, Well played.

Looks more like a Super Blackhawk with a round triggerguard. Unfluted cylinder.

“Super” frame and cylinder, Bisley grip and hammer. Looks like six lock notches on the cylinder, so not the 5-shot .454 Casul.

The Lipsey limited run guns had shorter barrels, I believe.

The motel room was probably reserved by Paul Pelosi.

“OW!”

Yup. Stupid hurts.

Many years ago, ol’ GB traded a Kawasaki 50 with a seized motor for a Ruger Blackhawk. The Ruger owner initiated the trade, despite me warning him that the motorcycle was not operable.
When I loaded the cylinder I found out why he wasn’t concerned. The firing pin assembly was not secured in the body, and would push out so that the cylinder would not rotate.
A couple of taps with a punch and it was good as new.
A few years later I traded the Blackhawk for a Winchester 30-30.
If I could have kept them both, I’da been happy. But I needed a deer gun, so….

I’m not sure what was going on with the teen and the 50-year-old but I’m sure it was not on the up-and-up.

Bad choices abound, it seems.

Finally got to watch the video.
I’d’a loved to see those three pay a bit more in “taxes”, but I’ll take a win.

Yes, dweeb. Stupid has consequences.

Oh, I’m sure it was totally innocent. Probably something to do with Tranny Scout Cookies.

Chris Hanson got stuck in traffic, so the kid had to consume the Oreos and wine coolers.

I thought that Sammy was going to turn out to be a girl. Maybe just a work in progress.

It must be difficult to exercise restraint as a law enforcement “server”
