BYSTANDER SHOOTS, KILLS SUSPECT IN ALTERCATION WITH OSAGE NATION POLICE OFFICER, OSBI REPORTS
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has released new details about the fatal shooting outside a Bartlesville casino on Tuesday.
A person was shot and killed outside the newly-opened Osage Casino & Hotel in Bartlesville on Tuesday, authorities confirm.
The Osage County Sheriff said this is the second incident to happen at the casino after a stabbing over the weekend.
The Osage Nation Police Department said an officer was there during the shooting but did not fire his weapon.
Both the suspect and the victim are not tribal members, so the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is leading the scene.
The OSBI said an Osage Nation Police Officer responded to the casino at 5 a.m. for a service call, about a male suspected of using a stolen credit card.
When the officer approached the male in his vehicle, the male attempted to drive away. The officer allegedly tried to get the suspect out of the car, but he drove away and pulled the officer with him, according to Hunter McKee with the OSBI.
McKee says a bystander, not an officer, then shot the suspect and he died.

The various tribes get a sizeable amount of income from casinos. It’s almost like “reparations” done right. My ancestors were among those who came in the 1600s and gradually pushed them onto reservations, now despite having very little acreage compared to their ancestors, Native peoples have managed to support their own by establishing venues that are illegal in most states. A Passamaquoddy coworker from the recruiting days was talking of their struggles to get a casino built. Non-tribal member acts the fool and almost takes out a cop, another non-tribal member intervenes and takes out the suspect. Lose-win.
As for the video, I fail to understand why certain demographics think it’s smart to try to take on police in any sort of fight. It’s a losing situation almost every time, as eventually they’ll catch you, even if you get away initially. This guy found out the hard way and earned the eterna-rest he deserved.

My dogs are doing alright. Bark Obama, the Mad Black Lab Lib, mooches hotdogs off of me daily. He’s getting up there in age, turning 14 in a couple of months, but he got free yesterday and enjoyed watering the neighbor’s lawn before deciding it’s not worth the effort to run off anymore. Snore Queen the Mountain Cur seems happy that she gets to nap all day while 99% of her breed are running the woods this time of year chasing deer, pigs, bear, and sasquatch across the mountains and streams. The temp dog, a Husky that looks like a Coca-Cola Bear, is content with her daily escapes and playing with the neighborhood dogs before coming back in and crashing on my bed, probably covered in alligator piss and nutria nut.
